Porsche 908 Lh 1968 Le mans

Postby cbracing » Fri Aug 09, 2013 4:11 am

After a lot of jobs to other drivers in the club, I have been able to continue to clear my 908LH. The car starts to take shape and the next week I hope to test drive the car. body is in resin and will be a bit heavier than carbon fiber or fiberglass car bodies that I otherwise builds race cars in. The chassis was an easy choice for me, and I used a Werks 3L from Germany that works perfectly for model racing with hard bodies. Chassis design, I have users in many other cars that I have built, so I know it works. it can be a little hard driving is the heavy body and the long overhang in the rear end. On our curvy track is more fitting with a 908/3, but it's fun with other challenges and not just go short cars.

Super deluxe effort. I like it. Would love to see the chassis. Is it anything special or is it basic?

cheers

Hi.
thank you like the car that I have built.
A picture of the chassis!
Some how the construction works on the model racing chassis for hardbody vehicle bodywork and solid PU tires that we have in the rear. And hard foam in the front.
H plate as you can see we are in the middle of the car acts as body holder and a flexible system for the body to be able to move. you can use different sleeves to get more movement on the body and sleeves available from 1mm-5mm. Wishbone front we have different hardnesses to use the springs. even where we use different Sleeves for different suspension lengths on the front end. why the front suspension, you ask? yes it is because these chassis acts as a go-kart chassis, when you enter the curve so lifts the inner rear wheel and you get a better grip. While we grind rear tires camber to help with grip. We are also using carbon fiber plates for ball carriers to get the correct ground clearance on the cars.
The minimum height is 0.8 mm, but we usually go about 1.0 to 1.1 mm.
some how they work these model racing cars here in europe.

Hi Christer,

Nice set up. Im restricted in the chassis department. Can only run a homologated control chassis. Same basic principle though, set up to lift the inside rear wheel and the body float is very simple but effective. We use plastic wall plugs glued to the body like a tripod. Then screws from the bottom of the chassis into the plugs and adjust for the amount of body movement ypu want. Works very well. Are the axles 3mm or 1/8" ? What brand of gears do you use and what tooth count do they come in? Always looking for better 1/24th gears. Do you have anything in the range 38-46T spurs and 9 or 10T metal pinions?

cheers

Hi. axles are made of 3mm, Front axles are drilled titanium axles and rear solid steel axles. ball bearings we use are ceramic bearings without seals. so after every race and before the race so we wash them in ultrasonic washing, to get the best performance. Rear Gear comes from JP
and sold in Germany, are from 34-47T, pinions are available in plastic or metal. believe the module is for gears 48P
Jp gears, you can get at. www.scaleracing.de
