1\24

Postby RazorJon » Fri Aug 31, 2012 10:12 am

I have gotten to the point in my slot experience that its got to be 1\24, so many kits to build, and so many cars and trucks that should be made that are
not. Thanks to H&R its to easy, so if you have been looking at that model you built as a kid, slap a chassis under it and it comes ALIVE :tools-hammerdrill:

I got a new 66 Impala Wagon and LocoTom built a jail door drop arm chassis for it, so if you see any little grandma figures in 1\24 I need 1 ;)

glad to see your arm is better, holding up that huge coffee jug

Ive pretty much switched to the large scale now. I have been for a while now. Ill still buy the odd 1/32 but only if it Transam or Vantage stockcars.

1/25 is great. You can get just about any body you like. If its not around in a plastic model kit at a decent price its available in resin. My only issue with the larger scale is there is 2 scales. 1/24 & 1/25. You may think its not much but the difference is huge. An example is 1/24 Monogram superbird & 1/25 Johan superbird. Side by side there is a big difference.

Im avoiding 1/24 & only building 1/25. It makes things a bit harder but if you look hard enough it can be found in 1/25.

Oh & I agree H&R. What a great product.

So many choices when it comes to 1/25. I don't have enough cash to do all the cars I would like to build.

Yeah, my collection grows faster than I can build them.

I was spending so much on H&R stuff, I called a halt to any more kits in the scale. Then I learned I could make four different kinds of chassis with equipment I had on hand or could make myself, I'm doomed.

But 1/32 is my scale. Sports and GT in Europe from the 1960s is my main interest, with a sideline in what is now called vintage NASCAR and jalopies, although those kits are really hard to find.

When I got sucked in it was ProTrack brass chassis' and then Doc with his TSRF and then the Slick7. H&R came along and so did PlaFit and Carrera and BRM. Soon there were ScaleAutos and new ProTrack plastic chassis'. I also have a Scholer and a now a new new PlaFit F-1...And now we're stuffing PlaFits, Scholers and PN Slots under 1/28th scale MiniZ RC bodies ala Aussie style.

And they just keep coming. (Not to mention 4" and 4-1/2" Flexis!)

It's an addiction boys. No matter where you start it always leads to harder stuff!

Whatever you do... DO NOT try ScaleAuto cars on S/A ProComp3 foams treated with 4605 NSR "tyre oyl"!!!

There are no treatment programs for that !
