1959 Triumph TR3 hubley kit

Scored two of these kits last week for a song. I built this one up over the last few days. Brass chassis of my own simple design, using a hawk motor, 9/31 gears, my own urethanes front and rear, slotting plus guide and SCC comp braid. Wheels are cut down H&R, with my own cast resin inserts, and Pegasus knockoffs. Bin driver figure, homemade tonneau cover and roll bar. chopped windshield, and Testors green rattle can paint with ACE clear enamel to seal the parts bin decals.

I had no idea Hubley made plastic kits. All I ever had from them was metal. When I saw the title for this post I thought, "Dang, Bob, what kind of motor did you put in that thing? Washing machine?"

It looks great. Hubley always did great at modelling (in metal). Is that the color of the plastic or did you paint it? Its a great metallic BRG.

Thanks Rob. No, its not metal bodied, i did not know of any all plastic kits either, and built several of the metal versions as a young lad. The paint is Testors 1630 gloss custom green metal flake. It is my house color for BRG.
