1960 Cuban grand prix winner.

Postby btaylor » Wed Jul 18, 2018 3:08 pm

Had some fun with one of my many Birdcage body's. I decided to replicate the 1960 Cuban grand prix winner, driven by Sir Stirling Moss. The car is a Maserati birdcage, raced under a US banner, and was overall winner of that somewhat historic race. I hope my feeble attempt does the car and the man some justice, but either way, its one helluva fun car to run! Brass chassis, piranha, slotting plus guide, my urethanes. Cutting sub 8 second laps on a track record of 7.3.

Very nicely done Big Bob.
It sure catches the essence of the race and Sir Stirlings penchant for racing anywhere anytime in anything.

Thank you for this post Bob, i'ts great for me to see not only the car but the details of the build, inc motor etc. I am all "input input" being relatively new to scratchbuild and this whole HRW family.

Looks such a nice car... :)

Thanks guy,s. And Eric, i am glad some spec info helps you or anyone else a little bit. I should post more chassis pics as well.I think Harry,s main purpose for starting HRW, was to share info so we all grow as enthusiasts and builders. Im glad i can make my small contributions now and then.
