I really like the concept of a "complete" kits like this...

... the local slot car club here runs 1/24th drags and what they call a DSC class for circuit, the classes are such that you dont need cutting edge gear to be competitive (Pete from Nomad likes keeping the playing field level and affordable).

Would love to do an AMT kit, but Pete reckons a H&R chassis with a store bought plastic kit would be a better option for me....

It is. Read Rob's review. It take more work than you will like I think.

...And H, do I hate work!!! ;)

I dont understand what AMT is doing with these kits, they are on a potential "goldmine" in these uncertain times and use bodgey chassis bits and pieces.

I think many of us would love to re-live just a little of the golden era of the sixties by buying some of these kits, AMT seems to be going low bidder on it, surely to goodness it wouldnt cost that much more to put good stuff in the box????

I just cant fathom it....

I cant comment on the AMT slot kit as Ill never buy one but that AMT charger body is a very nice body. I used a AMT model kit & H&R chassis for my build a while ago. Proportionally the body is spot on & almost falls together, very easy to build. The only problem the model kits I have found is its hard to get the hood to sit down properly near the windscreen. It wanted to sit high.

Heres my 71 Charger with an AMT body & H&R chassis & in The Kings colors!
