Thaks Allan i thought i had it cured but apparently not.
Thanks for taking time for me.

Rob that is indeed Donna Mae Mims car. She had a very interesting history running cars for many big name auto companies and her championship was a real cake topper. Thanks for noticing

On the eve or Round #1, here's another look at the field; this time by Division/Class, just the same way that most SCCA competitors used to see it...………

Modified Division

B Modified: Sort of Cheetahs vs. all comers...…..

Image

C Modified: This is the big class - Chaparrals vs. Lotuses vs. Ferraris vs. Porsches vs. Coopers vs. Jaguars:

Image

D Modified: Maserati time!

Image

E Modified: Ferrari vs. Porsche

Image

F Modified: A Copper T-39 Bobtail

Image

Production

A Production: Corvettes vs. Cobras - just like in the old days!

Image

C Production: Alfa vs. Healey vs. Jaguar

Image

D Production: The Lone 911!

Image

H Production: Can Donna Mae Mims keep her helmut on straight for the whole series?

Image

And that's it!

We'll be keeping score according to overall winner, Modified Division winner, Production Division winner and the winner of each class that has more than one car. For the single car classes, you're looking at your winner on the starting grid of Round #1. Lots of chances to win - should be fun!

We may yet see another C Modified entrant - a Ferrari 250 LM from Paul (Oscar Racing) and another D Modified entrant - an Elva Mk IV from Val (glasshorsevh)……………………….

Stay tuned for the results of tomorrow's race; probably before 5:00PM EDT.

Good luck to everyone!

What a great looking group of cars! Due to a series of unfortunate events, I have been in the hospital since Thursday morning and last night I was moved to a rehab facility. I’ll probably be hear a week or two due to complications a result of a neck injury I received in July (don’t ask). I was close to having the Elva together, but now it seems there will be a further delay to getting it into the series.... but I am determined to participate... just don’t know when. I am, and will be following this series closely no matter where from!

Get better soon Val, and back to what you enjoy.
I was fortunate to get Ms Mimms sent off, not so with the RAA car.
Life is getting in the way.

Hope you make a full recovery. Those neck injuries can be a very “ uncomfortable” and really take the fun out of just about everything.

Round #1 - Results

We ran Round #1 today. The drivers were Bob (relog), Jeff (dge467) and Matt (changing gearz). The drivers stayed in their lanes throughout the race, there were 31 heats and each heat was run for 3 minutes. The track is routed wood with a satin latex finish; average lane length is 65 ft. and we ran at 10.1V.

Here's a look at today's field before the start of the race; in racing order, which was reverse qualifying order; bottom left to upper right:

Before the race, we ran a concourse with the three drivers as the judges. Here is your concourse podium:

Congrats to Viv on his Kurtis Kraft, to John (munter) on his Costin Lister Jaguar and to Dennis (gascarnut) on his Chaparral Mk1! :text-bravo:

Here are your results:

Position / Car # / Total Laps / Fastest lap (tie-breaker, if needed)

1. #8 / 86.7

2. #2 / 81.5

3. #66 / 81.4

4. #30 / 81.0

5. #97 / 80.7

6. #112 / 79.0

7. #0 / 77.9

8. #63 / 77.2

9. #127 / 76.7

10. #3 / 76.5

11. #16 / 75.1 / (6.876)

12. #366 / 75.1 / (6.878)

13. #33 / 74.5 / (6.970)

14. #15 / 74.5 / (7.170)

15. #19 / 74.4

16. #524 / 73.8

17. #163 / 73.5 / (7.113)

18. #5 / 73.5 / (7.156)

19. #46 / 73.3

20. #20 / 73.1

21. #99 / 72.3

22. #17 / 72.2

23. #6 / 71.1 / (7.101)

24. # 24 / 71.1 / (7.304)

25. #31 / 70.8

26. #4 / 70.0

27. #9 / 67.8

28. #62 / 67.2

29. # 1 / 67.0

30. #23 / 62.4

31. #7 / 59.3

Fastest lap of the day went to car #8 in the white (middle) lane - 6.059

No real casualties; the #20 car lost it's guide blade extension on its first heat, but the performance didn't seem to vary, so we let it run with the standard size guide and I think it worked very well.

Here's the overall race podium; which is also the Modified Division Podium:

Image

Congrats to Dave (drw21) on building a fast, super-easy to drive car! :handgestures-thumbup: :handgestures-thumbup:

And here's your Production Podium; just not able to catch the Modifieds today:

Image

Those Cobras look very hungry...……….

And here are the people's choice cars; the ones that we want to keep!

Image

The Cooper T-39 Bobtail from Bob (doubl-B), the A-H bugeye Sprite from Bob (chappy) and the Maserati 300S from Brian (Duke777).

They'll be in the mail later this week; off to Round #2 at Cornerstone Raceway in South Grafton, MA. They are a fun group of cars to run!

WOW!!! Congratulations to Dave on the Win and Chris and Dennis on the podiums. Allan and the #30 not that far off from the podium and Arroldn, that #112 showed up on a late build great job!!!! And that # 97 glad you reconsidered! Finally, those CobraS=FAST. Shocked that my#33 moved up 7 spots from qualifying. I'm just glad to be involved with these incredible builds up and down the field regardless of finish. Good luck to all the builders as we move forward.

I know the top 3 are slimline can we match motors to to cars ? The 3and 33 are both H&R Hawks as I figured the torque would overcome the rpm.
