We're starting to see some interesting races-within-the-race; similar cars competing in this Can-Am field. Here's how it's shaping up so far; with three cars still be designated:

Lola T70 - cgingras, Dogsbody, pzooc, smokeio, superslab, old23, Billy boy = 7 cars



Porsche 917k - redlynr, jscot111, Duke7777, Mark = 4 cars



Ford GT-40 Mk1 - Oscar Racing, Nimrod, Spanish Fly = 3 cars



McLaren M8D - bov, Audi1, chrisguyw = 3 cars



Autocoast Ti-22 - rleog, Beast Lee, ALS = 3 cars



Porsche 911 RSR - BrumosRSR, Mitch58, Austin = 3 cars



So, over half the field involved in a pseudo one-design race-with-the-race............should be interesting..........and fun!

And don't forget, Team McLaren also has an M6B from Cory (cj47); doubtless it will be a runner.........

This will be tons of fun 6 weeks can't get here fast enough. BTW RSR V3.0 is slightly faster than 2.0-2.9.

Tuning progress sometimes comes in small increments of gain; particularly when you start closing in on maxing out the performance of your car. But, added together even those small increments, generally, add up to a huge step forward vs. where you started from. Glad V3.0 is coming along well! We'll be ready for the 911 RSR onslaught when the cars arrive on May 1st.

I posted earlier today (see the new "Some Sad News" thread) that we've lost one of our HRW forums members; Don Murphy (Mrollingthunder).

Don had signed up to build and race a Holman Honker in this year's Can-Am proxy; typical of his approach to slot car racing in general; something definitely out of the ordinary.

I propose that we leave the roster as it is at 39 racers, leaving a place of honor for Don's planned #17 Honker entry.

We'll dedicate this series to him this year and if any of you have a car that reasonably represents a Holman Honker, then please send it on to me and I'll build it out for him as a tribute car to run in this proxy. A partnership would be even better; if there's someone who can work from the NSR P68 white kit and build out the body, then I can handle the chassis. Thanks.

They have one in stock, If no speaks up I will order on monday and send Alan the chassis

At risk of disappointing our Porsche enthusiasts I'll be changing my entry from a Porsche 911 to an Alfa Romeo 3/33. I took the Porsche to one of our club tracks the other night and the handling just wasn't consistent enough for a proxy car, and due to my current heavy work schedule I just don't have the time to work it out. I'll maintain the #9 though.
