Finished up my 2nd Showdown mod for 2018.
Thought I'd try to reproduce a popular mod from back in the day.
Musta' been 1969 -1972 or so. Kenny Shrum ran a big block Chevy Camaro on the dirt tracks around here.
The Camaro had to be nearly brand new when it was cut up for this car.
Kenny almost always ran with a cigar in his mouth.



Started with a Professor Motor drop arm mated to a Professor Motor motor mount.
some 3/64 brass rod & a little strap here & there.
Pro-Track Wheels, Paul Guage Tires, Piranha motor, Cox 9:27 gears, Parma guide & Big Mama braid



Finished with Ace Hardware white, "home-brewed" decals with a coat of Future to finish it off.

looks like a spot on replica of the 1.1 SBrew, I bet that little camaro was a beast with that hog block. Don`t know about the dirt scene, but on asphalt, the BB cars were a challenge to get the push out of leaving the center of the corner.
Question for you my friend, not being a real big modified racing follower, what was the purpose of 1.1 builders narrowing the body's on these cars?
example:

Don't know "Ky.Slot". I guess weight & wind. Maybe to fit sprint car type chassis.
Around here, until the 80's cars had to have stock windshield openings, including windshield.
Had to use 2 x 4 steel chassis rails, & weigh 3000 something pounds
Wheelbase was 99" to 103", so bodies were shortened, but not narrowed.
Big blocks hauled. The tracks were short & banked. We ran low as an 8:10 gear on some nights at the local 1/5 mile.

what wheels, tires and inserts are those, look great, I need some of those...

To "Lotus56".................. No inserts. They're Pro-Track wheels, minus the foam & painted ......A few added touches with a toothpick. :D
Tires are Paul Guage 22160.395 (non-ribbed)

Thanks Harry, looked at that page a bazillion times and never saw those inserts.
