Thanks Dan. Thankfully, I don’t have time for scallops, because the last scallops I painted were a masking disaster
☠️. I’m thinking it’s time for the outlaw to return.

Hi JT,
Have you filled those floppy outrigger tubes with lead or is that solid rod?

The outriggers are solid .093 rods. The floppy outriggers also slide forward and backward trombone style: forward under braking to load the front and rearward under acceleration for traction. Did some tuning at Methe’s this morning - thanks Bob! Reduced tire dia , retrued Tires, changed guides, tried vaqrious weight additions and gearing options. Even managed to break a solder joint. Getting there.

Today I learned that the Tamiya British Racing Green is not dark green as the color of the cap, but nearly Kelly Green (Irish Racing Green?) So, out came the satin black and after the first coat, a sort of Green Hornet color scheme...which will not stay.

Looking good JT. I might beat you at least to the Post Office...I'm going out in the blinding snow tomorrow to ship. Did you use a big foam block to mount the chassis to the body? I like the sliding weight idea. My first excursion into racing with the Shoreline guys decades ago...I built a Scaley Nascar that had slick sliding blocks on the chassis with the same concept in mind. However back then I also did not know all the other crucial aspects to setting up a car...so ah did not win any prizes against that competition.

Yes, body mounted to via two dense foam block “posts” epoxied to the body. Blocks have threaded brass inserts epoxied into them. Foam is very light and dampens body roll. Trombone rattle pan is fun, hopefully effective.

Nice JT. Inventive styling. What goes in the 'passenger' opening?

Nice vintage look in the tradition of your 1:32 builds.
Likely to be postmarked after January 19th, so penalty points will be assessed. Sorry, but I know you understand.
Looking forward to seeing and running it.
