Proxy Racing Questions

Okay guys this may sound dumb but just what is a proxy race??? Since I started following this site I have heard a lot of talk about them and I was just wondering what they are. Seems like a lot of them going on and a lot of guys participating in them! May even be interested in entering a car or two in one!! Thanks :text-thankyouyellow:

A proxy race is one in which contestants build cars to a given spec and then send them to a central location so that they may then be sent around to different tracks to be raced by the different slot groups. Results are scored and compiled to create a series structure.

Basically, build a car to suit the series and send it off. If you build a good one fame and glory await. If luck is with you the car will return eventually in recognizable condition. There is no guarantee on condition at return.

And if you have no local racers, this is an opportunity to test your car building skills against very good competition.

It's always a bit of a thrill to me to say I have cars racing in different parts of the world, or to have 'visitors' from around the world racing on my track....
