Bachman slot cars

Postby Nicholai Teslot » Fri May 24, 2019 10:40 am

Anybody have any experience with the Bachman 1/43 (superscale ) cars ? They were selling dirt cheap on ebay. Will these run on standard home tracks , such as Carerra ? It looks like they would be more at home on HO tracks, but are too big. These look to be about the perfect size for 1/32 home tracks.

My only recent experience with them is that I've seen them turning up at vendor's tables (in bunches) at slot car shows here in the Northeastern part of the country.
Usual selling price... about 5 bucks a shot! Of course, I've got no personal interest or use for the cars so that's all I've got to offer you in the way of any info.
I don't know what they're currently selling for on ebay. -- Ernie :>)

Not very impressive models. Price seems about right. I would not have high expectations.

For nostalgia/collecting? The earn a spot on the shelf.

Those are Bachmann Supertrax slot cars. The sets used the old Strombecker molds so the cars were made for 1/32 track but they are small. I bought a set to add more track to my Strombecker set in the late 70's. The cars are more like HO with brass contact strips instead of braids and a little motorific type rectangular motor, not much to them.

Just to add a little to this, the Bachmann trains were toy-like for years, then in the early 2000s, they began a new line of trains that were gorgeous under a new name. I have no idea what they did with their slot cars. I didn't know they ever made any.

Anyone have any pictures of the Bachmann slot cars? Is this vintage stuff or more recent production?

I bought a lot of ten off of ebay. Porsches and C3 Corvettes. The Porsches looked ok. I only modded one chassis so far, and used under a 1/43 Mercedes CLK.

I got one to run on my Carrera home track. I put the Scalextric guide assembly on it. It runs ok on the standard power pack. No speedster though.
