Re 917

That is an older build, but the last thing in the world would I have expected is a wheel to fall off. It has thousands of laps on it. Just goes to show, that whatever can happen will happen in a proxy race.

If I remember that car has static modeling aluminum rims that were bored out and glued to the axle.

Thanks Peter for running the 917. All three cars are of a slightly different chassis design. Hopefully one of the other two can get hooked up and run well on the DESMO

The race





Aki - Mustang
16V - 90ohm
nice to drive! i would have suspected a higher CoG, but the Mustang stays in the slot really nice! great car to drive ...
tires should be glued for the whole surface between tire and wheel ...
when going for higher entry speeds into the corners, the Mustang will jump out of the slot in tight corners, it really did not like the tight bends of lane 3. So, you have to drive with power! clean entry into the curve and power it out, this is the game for the Mustang.
it could help handling if the body could move a little against the chassis, just a little rattle. It makes the car not really faster, but it is way better for a smooth controll, the step from grip to roll becomes a slide ...

gut zu fahren! aufgrund der Form hätte ich einen höheren Schwerpunkt erwartet, aber der Mustang überrascht mich positiv.
Reifen sollten über die gesamte Laufbahn auf der Felge verklebt werden. in engen Kurven springt der Mustang gern mal aus dem Slot, die engen Kurven von Spur 3 liegen ihm nicht wirklich. Aber mit einem sauberen Strich in die Kurve rein, dann funktionierts mit dem Pony. Wenn die Karosserie etwas lockerer auf dem Chassis sitzen würde, könnte man ein etwas fehlerverzeihenderes Fahrverhalten erreichen. So bleibt die Grenze zwischen Grip und Rollen ein sehr dünner Strich ...







BARC1 - CLK

a little more tire trueing and this car would be fast, really fast.
nice, smooth runner with an awesome paint job! i like those colors. should be even provide good visibility in really dense fog ;)

etwas mehr Reifenschleifen - bis die Reifen rund sind, dann wären mit dem CLK schnellere Runden möglich. Ansonsten ein gut laufendes Auto mit einer tollen Lackierung. Ich mag diese Farben. Sollte man auch im dichten Nebel problemlos erkennen können.
Gut zu fahren.







BARC1 - Porsche 906

the guide does strange things when heading into a corner to fast. i think it is too angled and pushes the car out of the slot when a attacking a corner at (too) high speed. a good handling car otherwise!
very nice details and good handling, i like the sticker on the back!
during qualifying laps, the rear wheel came off. as i could not see if it screwed or glued, i did not touch it any further.

der abgeschrägte Leitkiel dürfte das Auto in schnell angefahreren Kurven aushebeln. Keine gute Idee. Das Auto fährt sich richtig gut. Die Details gefallen mir richtig gut, vor allem den Sticker am Heck mag ich!
Während der Qualifying Runden hat sich ein Hinterrad entschlossen sich mal die Landschaft ohne das Auto anzusehen. Da ich nicht feststellen konnte ob die Felge geschraubt oder geklebt ist und ich nichts versauen wollte, gibt es leider ein DNF für den Porsche.







dillerman2- Nissan #20
11V 45ohm
das nächste schöne Auto. auch hier - Karo viel zu straff am Chassis. In engen Rechtskurven hoppelt das Heck schon mal. Schnell und ruhig.
Zwischen den Rennrunden Spur 3 und Spur 1 fängt das Auto auf einmal an, wie befreiter zu laufen. Wie wenn ein Einfahreffekt plötzlich Wirkung zeigt. Auf den Geraden gespürt schneller.
Der Nissan zeigt sehr schön an, wieviel Geschwindigkeit er noch verträgt. Richtig gut zu fahren

Very nice car! the body is sitting way too tight on the body. a little body float helps handling. In right hand corners the rear end stomps out some times. between racing in lane 3 and lane 1 something broke loose and the car got quicker. The Nissan is showing really nice how fast it likes to be driven in which section of the track. very fine car controll.









Aki - Bugatti
14V -90ohm
i put small drops of oil on the axles - just to stop part of the rattling noise.
the Bugatti is running great, body mounting screws would be better if a little loose. more controll. nice to drive, fast. great looking car!
as the Bugatti became really twitchy under more speed, i opened the body screws. now the screws dragged on the track. put in flat headed screws from a kyosho, but only 2 screws. now the body could move on the chassis. what a difference, the Veyron became a fast and good to controll car, only by this change.
i´m not a fan of the 1:1 car, but this car looks brilliant on the track!

kleine Tropfen Öl auf die Achsen um einen Teil der Geräusche einzudämmen. Der Bugatti fährt sich gut, allerdings mußte ich die Karosserieschrauben lösen. bzw. gegen Flachkopfschrauben tauschen, denn sonst streifen die Schrauben auf der Strecke. Mit lockeren Schrauben fährt sich der Bugatti richtig entspannt und richtig schnell.
Ich bin ja nicht der größte Fan des 1:1 Autos, aber auf der Strecke schaut der Bugatti richtig, richtig gut aus!







Aki - Audi R8
12V 45 ohm
also a little rattling, but still good to drive.
nice to look at going round and round and round!
body float could help controll. a little more tire trueing ...
to get this car faster - take a look at front axle - i think most of the rattling is coming from that end.
nice to drive with 2 of the 4 body screws removed and the other 2 loosend a little.

irgendwas scheppert auch im Audi, macht aber keine Probleme. spult Runde um Runde ab. Nachdem ich die Karoschrauben 2x entfernt habe und die anderen gelockert habe.
Ansonsten könnte ein wenig Reifenschleifen den Audi noch schneller machen.
Eine Kontrolle der Vorderachse könnte auch nicht schaden.
Ansonsten ist der Audi gut zu fahren.







Dusan - Capri #54
12,5V 45ohm
sehr schönes Licht, gefühlt etwas lange übersetzt, Bremsen könnten besser sein. Leise und ruhig - und schnell! Richtig gut zu fahren. Außer dem Anschlag des Leitkiels - der könnte später kommen.
nahezu perfekt ausbalanciert läßt sich der Capri richtig gut kontrollieren. und schaut gut aus mit dem Licht (vorne 4 Scheinwerfer - richit gut!). kein einziges Mal aus dem Slot gesprungen.

very nice lights ont he Capri, gearing a little on the long side, brakes could be better. runs smooth and fast.
very nice controlled car. only thing - the end of travel of the guide could be later. the stop comes early and hard. did not jump out of the slot once.
very nice to drive and to look at with the 4 lighted head lights!







Ingo - Capri #53
12V 45ohm
der nächste tolle Capri. wieder ein bißchen lange übersetzt. toll zu fahren. Die Übersetzung dürfte gar nicht sooo lang sein. Der blaue Motor hat ganz einfach wenig Bremse, leider.
Ansonsten ein schön zu fahrendes Auto, das auf der Bahn richtig gut ausssieht.

the next good looking Capri. great to drive, gearing a little long. No, correction - its not the gearing, its the weak braking from the blue motor. otherwise a great car to drive, which looks awesome on the track.







Daniel - Peugeot 908
12V 45ohm
wow, der läuft gut. ruhig, flach, schnell. Ansonsten - top. Mit Licht vorne wäre das ein Über-Auto. Mit dem geänderten Chassis drunter könnte mir der 908 fast gefallen! Ein schönes Auto und richtig gut zu fahren.

very nice and fast car. add lights to this car and you got a great looking car. the changed chassis really makes the car look good. And fast! very nice car controll.









Eliano - Mustang KenBlock
13V - 15 ohm
Training 9,0s
leider klemmt das Kronrad für die Hinterachse zeitweise, so verweigert das Auto das weiterfahren. Die Vorderräder drehen durch (angetrieben), die Hinterachse blockiert das weiterfahren.
Die längste Zeit herrscht Grip ohne Ende, der vollkommen ohne Vorankündigung abreist und das Heck WEIT nach außen wandern läßt. Ich tippe auf eine ungünstige Gewichtsverteilung.
Ansonsten ein wunderschönes Auto.
und irgendwann werde ich dem Norweger wohl erklären müssen, welche Vorteile es hat, wenn sich die Karosserie ein klein wenig gegenüber dem Chassis bewegen kann.
13 Runden Training vorm Rennen hat das Ritzel durchgehalten, dann war es vorbei. Kein Antrieb an der Hinterachse.
Ich vermute mal, das das Go!Ritzel nicht so 100% zu dem H0 Kronrad gepaßt hat, das ja eine Pitch-Teilung und keine Modul-Teilung hat. Versucht hätte ich ja, den Motor auszubauen um das Ritzel zu tauschen, doch durch 2 Motoren sind die Kabel kurz und ich bekomme einen Motor alleine nicht raus. Und das Ritzel ist anscheinend noch zusätzlich aufgeklebt? Auf alle Fälle geht es ohne Gewalt nicht runter.

the rear axle binds sometimes. car stops dear on the track with the front wheels still trying to power the car forward - 2 motors, one rear, one front.
the line between grip and slide is nearly not existing. it´s awesome quick and in the next moment the rear end is hanging out by 70 degrees. maybe a weight distribution topic?
the scratchbuilt body is simply awesome. really beautifull. Tilo even added those through the hood turbos.
i wil have to explain the benefits of body float to the Norwegian.
In lap 13, the pinion of the rear axle has been eaten totally. maybe not matching pinion/crown combination?
i tried, but due to various reasons, i could not get the motor out and change the pinion.

Uwe - Truck

Roland hat mal über meinen Buggyra geschrieben: Getriebegeräusche des Todes ....
Aber der Truck biegt pfeilschnell ein und läuft einfach nur schnell. Irgendwie saugt sich der Truck an die Bahn und biegt ab als gäbe es kein Morgen. Begeisternd!
Ich habe mir auch hier erlaubt die Karosserieschrauben etwas zu lockern, ein bißchen leiser und der Truck zeigt ein bißchen früher an, das es jetzt genug ist.

at one time, Roland described my truck with "gear noises from hell". some here.
but the truck is fast, really fast. and it corners like there is no tomorrow, very direct car controll.
i opened the body screws a little to help handling.







Daniel - F40
15V 90ohm
uh uh, i´m in trouble. Der F40 ist ein Geschoß. Läuft zwar etwas rauh aber richtig schnell. und klebt auf der Bahn. Ein richtig tolles Auto. Hängt sehr direkt am Gas, was auf Dauer etwas anstrengend ist, braucht halt Konzentration. Diese wird jedoch mit richtig guten Rundenzeiten belohnt.
Begeisternd. Ich glaube ich brauche auch einen F40 ...
Während der Trainingsrunden stand sogar mal eine 8,4 in der Anzeige ...

The F40 is a weapon on the track. runs a little rough (body float?), but really, really fast. sucks to the track surface and goes. very direct car controll, needs concentration but will be rewarded with really, really fast lap times.







Claus - DTM
17,5V 90ohm
so leicht wie mit dem DTM fährt schnell fahren selten. perfekte Übersetzung, toller Motor (alles Go!standard!). Chassis mit Kugellagern aufgewertet, Go!GuideAdapter vorne und gute Reifen von CarGo. dezente Messingplatte um den Schwerpunkt in den Griff zu bekommen.
richtig fein zu fahren.
und eine Überraschung für Claus - in manchen Kurven (eng) kippt das Auto immer noch und beginnt nicht zu rutschen ...

i have seen no other which is so easy to drive fast like this DTM. perfect gearing, great motor - everything standard go. chassis upgraded with ball bearings, PU tires from CarGo and Go!Guide Adapter. a little brass counter-weight on the bottom to help the high roller not to turn over.
a really nice to drive car.







Tilo - RS01
12V 45ohm

das wahrscheinlich leiseste Auto in diesem Feld. wunderbar gleichmäßig zu fahren. das Chassis ist irgendwie gefedert, ich kann da keine Details erkennen. Fährt sich richtig gut, einzig die Bremsen sind schwach.
Tja, leider ist der RS01 in Runde 24 vom Training, knapp vor Rennbeginn ganz, ganz leise geworden. Ritzel lose. Bewegt sich keinen Zentimeter mehr. Wirklich schade, ein toll zu fahrendes Auto.
Ich versuchte, das Ritzel zu tauschen, aber es war eine Hülse auf der Motorwelle aufgelötet um ein 2mm Ritzel mit 9 Zähnen verwenden zu können. Durch Kleber und Hülse war das kein Tausch den ich auf die Schnelle machen konnte. Sorry.

the most quiet car in the field for sure!
make an awesome drive, with very nice controll. chassis seems to be a pod - rear axle with guide, and some kind of rubber between front and rear. great engineering included here. maybe a shorter gearing could help the weak brakes.
in lap 24, right before the race started, the RS01 stopped dead on the track. sound makes clear - loose pinion.
i tried to change the pinion, but Tilo used a 9t pinion with a 2mm motor axle, which i do not have in stock, also the motor has a 1.5mm axles, it´s hard to remove the glue that held the pinion in place on the soldered adapter.

Peter - Exige
14V 90ohm
die handliche Exige läuft gut in diesem Jahr. irgendwo hoppelt es noch und zu frühen Gaseinsatz belohnt sie mit einem ordentlichen Schlenker, aber in Summe kann man das kleine Autochen mit viel Spaß über die Bahn jagen.
Vielleicht hätte ein bißchen eine kürzere Übersetzung noch bessere Zeiten gebracht, aber so fügt sich die Exige harmonisch ins Feld ein. Wird spannend!
Korrektur: ein bißchen länger übersetzt hätte nicht geschadet, die Exige braucht etwas zuviel Konzentration und das fehlende Gewicht mit der Übersetzung bewirken, das die Exige aus der Spur gerissen wird. Fängt sich zwar schnell wieder, doch kostet wertvolle Zeit.
Egal, spaßig zu fahren und sieht gut aus.

The Exige is running great this year. sometimes the rear end stomps out. first i thought the gearing is too long, but after racing it i know that it should have been longer. the car is a little to direct on the input from the controller.
nice to drive anyway. maybe i will change back from 24 to 20t crown.







Peter - Mini
12V 45 ohm
das Leichtgewicht überzeugt durch die hohe Kurvengeschwindigkeit. Läuft ruhig und leise, bei hohen Drehzahlen kommt ein Surren dazu, das süchtig machen könnte.
Übersetzung könnte kürzer sein, da die Bremsen eher schwach sind.

the Mini is very fast in the corners. nice to drive. gearing should be shorter to help braking as it likes to run deep into the cormers.
when getting into speed, a high pitched whine is starting - and you would want to hear this scream on every single straight! makes a great driving car.

Thanks Peter. Great feedback on all the cars. Both cars that used the static aluminium wheels came loose. I will need to change the glue type, and maybe use epoxy for proxies. Epoxy is so permanent though, I shy away from it until now.

I had high hopes on the 906, but was undone by that loose wheel.

Congratulations to the cars on the podium, and to all that entered. Some really nice entries and I especially liked the Capri.
