Coming Back

Postby Alan132 » Sun Dec 17, 2017 11:23 am

After a few years away and getting some health issues in line I have decided to get back into the slots again. A few months back decided to sell the house in Dallas and move closer to grand children in Minnesota. Found a nice group of guys doing 1/32 scale. They meet every Thursday night. However I just cannot put the 1/43 size aside!
I have already installed a new 40' HO Maxtrax drag strip that will be used for 1/43. Just narrow the guide a bit and spread out the braid and it works very well.
Will begin construction of a single lane road coarse using copper tape. Plan on using it for Trans Am and GT running against the clock.
Now to get busy and get in some gears, wheels motors and so on. I have a couple of 3D printers to play with and will try my hand with them. I have been in touch with Peter and he has given me some info. I will be looking at some of his items too.
Any info on sources of parts sure would be helpful.
Thank you
Alan

Now to go back and read up on all the 1/43 postings I have missed over the years.

Glad you are back. 143 is a great scale, just not as mainstream as 132. Hopefully you are up for some proxy racing

Thank you for the welcome back. Although I did install the drag strip first I doubt there will be much use. We will see!

Really looking forward to building the road coarse and add some nice scenery too.

Has anyone done anything early F1 cars say around in the 1960 era. Lotus - Cooper/Ford - ??

Real small motor required I guess!

Sounds interesting Lloyd! If you happen to have a picture or two I really would like to see it!

I have not used my 3D printer for a while and I just took delivery of some new software for it.

Picture could give me an idea for a chassis!

As if I don't have enough to do !

Great to have more active members in the forum.

If not mentioned already , http://slotcarparts.de/ got probably best selection of parts available at the moment.

Cheers
