At last...
Picture 3 is just what I told you to do. Straight, angled braid and a bit weight on the front if necessary.

The farther you go, the better the show... ;)

Btw my sketches

Please have another look at it. I have corrected it.

Does it really look like braid ? Where is the guide ?
Does braid have a hump on the underside ?

My mistake was to call it "shoe" - that might have associated with "pickup shoe"...

It is the spring brass part that protrudes under the chassis and touches the braid on the guide.
The first sketch shows how it should be bent, the second shows how a lot of slotracers bend it. Steep, a very small contact area, no soft gliding but more scratching on the braid. Useless.

I do understand the drawing more now.
I did understand the “shoe” or brass contact must be flat and even to get the most contact with the braid on the guide flag.

Thanks again. Excited to add some weight to even the car out.
