Carrera Go Cars

Hi all

Was wondering what you can do to reduce the front end bouncing on a straightaway? Looks like the pickups are causing the bounce but not sure what to do here, add a small weight?

Comb out about 1/8" at the end of the braid and fold the braid closer to the bottom of the chassis. One method I have used is to place an axle or similar sized object under the base of the braid and force the braid down over top of it, then force the ensuing bump down. At this point the braids may not make contact with the rail so you will have to bend a slight curve into the braid until contact is obtained. This could take a couple of tries until the desired results are obtained

Don't place the braids (pickup shoes) as it show in the Carrera manual/instruction that make the front end of the cars bouncing as you notice & its even worst when running non-magnets

What I do is place the braids the same way as I would for 1/32 scale cars works lot better without the front end bouncing when speeding up on straights

You may need a few tries to get it right as Dodgefarmer said before in his post

I noticed that the front tires almost seem to never contact the track. If one does make contact, the other seems raised. Almost like the chassis is tweaked. You can see the tire wear patterns on the rears and the outer edges of the fronts. Definitely needs truing. Question is whether truing the rears using sandpaper would bring the fronts down to touch the track? Could the rear sit lower than the front? Almost looks that way. What type of weights are people using on the fronts in front of the pins? How much weight?

Thanks

weight is not the solution to bring the front end down.
adjusting the braid so the tires contact the track IS possible.
before trueing the tires try to reduce the play in the axles. go!cars have excessive play in the axles.
how?
- put a very small drop of CA glue (superglue) near the bearing (maybe use a pinhead to apply the CA)
- turn the axle by hand until the glue hardened
- if there is still play in the axle - another small drop
repeat this process until the axle play is gone.
use for front and rear bearings!

To true the front tires in a tire truer use an early Evolution knurled (not the splined) axle. The knurled axle measures 0.086-7" D same as Go.
