Nice, track and Vids; I concur that looks exceptionally good for a freehand track, especially if you've ever used a router and know how much they pull! Just a side note, but when you use a guide to route you don't get so many "nicks" so the plunge thing is not such a great factor.
And just so's people know, Yeah Broman's Thread does make it look easy, that's because it is!!! It's not hard at all, in fact in my mind in some ways it's easier, because if you can draw it, you can route it! How many times have you laid out a great track just to get down to the last couple pieces and find out it ain't going to work!!??? To me the only real downside is you can't tear it down whenever you want and change it round, but I find that people who have been racing a while know what they like in a circuit and what they don't; so if you have been running plastic for a while, your first routed effort will probably mimic designs that you are already familiar with and like pretty well, so if you route them, there's a good chance you will be happy with it for a long while. Routing will allow you to get that increadible smoothness that sectional track can't match as well as some other things like: a third lane or a single lane hill climb!
I have had my routed track for several years now and I think the only thing I would like to change is the size of it, when we get a new house the inevitable new track will be easily twice as big as what I have now. :banana-rock:
