You da man Peter! 8-)
Well I just happen to have some of Ed's slide guides here.
This conversion was very easy.
Here is the victim, I mean car.
This pin won't work on my track so it has to go.
All theses parts are taken off.
Here is the front end.
You can see what I cut out. Most of this was done with a very small side cutter, a small amount of exacto knife cutting and a bit of file work so the wires would clear the sides when the guide is turned. The bottom was left alone and the guide was put into the hole where the pin was. The front hole is the body mount hole.
As you can see the slide guide fit in perfact and is not in a bad position front to back.
Here it is all wired up with the silicone wire treaded though the guide holes and the soldering done.
The bottom view.
Here you can see the wheels touch the ground
The bottom of the guide sits well on the track surface.
Very simple conversion with no adding of material needed.
As I was doing this. I was thinking of how rally cars, when running always seem to be a stuggle going down the road with the driver fighting the wheel every inch of the way. :auto-layrubber: :auto-rally:
Wouldn't it be cool to have a steering chassis?
Cheers Ted
