Thanks for the kind words. You can credit that chassis to master craftsman Dennis Samson. A true work of art.

Come on team Porsche. Let's get 'em!

The J car was a quick and easy fix, just a couple of drops of super glue to hold the interior and window assembly back to the roof and all ready to go again.

Cheers for that Smokio, I wasn't sure but that clears up any mystery, very nice car to drive - well done.

Hi Guys, we have set a date, well sort of.
It will be this weekend coming up.
No yet sure if it will be Saturday or the Monday as that is a public holiday here in NZ.
Won't be long now.

Hi Guys, the race has been won by a Ford (21) with a Porsche (23) in second, another Ford (70) in third place and another Porsche (33) in fourth place.
Rod drove on green lane, Mike on red lane, Jeremy on white and Alex on yellow lane.

As always we washed the track clean before the race and then run some other cars to get the drivers dialed in to their lane.
We ran all the cars in their qualy order and with a clean track and clean tyres there was no dust for the cars to contend with and therefore no crazy track conditions.
Then we loaded up the grid starting with the slowest qualifyers and then the faster cars till we got to the top 3 where Rod put in his blueprinted P68 from the big NSR Challenge a few weeks ago as a fill in car to maintain even and equal power levels.

Some real close racing as expected and all in all another great round of the Ford vs Porsche series is now in the books.
I did take some photos but they aren't any good so Mike will be posting and some photos and results as soon as he can.
Thank You to all invovled, you guys make this Proxy Racing worth while.

Hi Guys
Hope you enjoyed your Indy weekend as much as we did running our own "Indy" day. Sorry for the delay between qualifying and race day, just everything seemed to land in May. However we got there and had a good turnout from the club guys to help out on probably the biggest proxy field we have ever hosted.

Special thanks to Drivers, Alex, Mike, Jmac and Rod; Marshals - Paul, Jan and Dave on race control. Also thanks to Jan for printing out some NZ stickers which we have put on every entrant's car to say made it to NZ.

As Dave has commented above, there was plenty of close racing, some surprise race results compared to the qualifying results like Smoke10 #70 and Slottingsince1963 #63. Comments are included on how each car went. Our short technical track challenged a few cars, especially those geared for bigger tracks.

Only damage to report is BARC1 #19, the hotglue applied to hold his front guard together( repaired from a earlier round) has fallen out, we will re-apply before sending cars off, and his half a steering wheel is now a 1/4 of a steering, have put it in a parts bag, not worth gluing back in.

All told the guys had a good time and were highly interested with all the different build techniques.
I'll post pictures in due course but here is the overall results:

Thanks for running this Round, posting the results and taking the pics, Dave and crew!

Congrats to the podium cars; DRW21, kidvoltage and smokeio!

This has been a great 3-race series in New Zealand and we look forward to many more; glad you had a good time racing these cars,

No more urethane tires for me in a rubber/urethane Proxy; I’m traveling twice the distance (half of it sideways) and finishing nearer the bottom.......

Great job, guys!

Allan

Wow, what a run. Less than a lap and a half separating 4th through 10th! It's tight at the front. What a field of cars!

Thanks for the effort gents, and for the stickers as well. Always nice to have souvenirs of the journey.
