Good day to all from a sunny and hot Bloemfontein, South Africa.

Santa Clause has delivered and awesome present. The majority of the Slot Car Crazy group is on holiday and Racing would only start early in 2018.



These cars look awesome and will be inspected individually, all defects will be communicated with the owners.

Once again congrats to all on some fantastic builds.

So the pits start to get busy as Xmas approaches.

Thanks Gavin, great to see that the cars made the 5,000 mile trek in good shape. Thanks for the pics and we're all looking forward to the racing come early 2018; always fun to see the cars run at The New 1953 and the Rhino River Raceway, as well as some of the other tracks that you have in South Africa.

And I really like your little Christmas tree in the first pic!

Someone down there needs to build a 1/32 scale Kyalami track...................hint, hint...........................! ;) :lol:

Breaking News !!! Two rounds of this Epic Battle have been run, a sprint race and qualifier at The Shamrock and The 1953 race. Gsmea is sorting out the results . Pics and videos to follow shortly. Not letting out any secrets !!! ....... but home tracks seem to have their advantages .

Sorry for taking so long in posting the results, the last two weeks was hectic at work, but all under control now.

As Richard said, a special stage was run on the Shamrock Test Track. This is my routed track, copper tape, variable voltage, Parma controllers, infrared lap counting with Race Coordinator software. The voltage was set at 10.5v.



The format was single lane racing, 20 laps run, the average of the best 5 laps is then used to determine car position for the Shamrock race. Result are below a and full excel sheet is in the link below. Well done to the top 3 finishers. Must say the Fords were dominant on the shorter more twisty track.

So, congratulations to Dave (DRW21) on his win at the Shamrock and to Monte (kidvoltage) for his win at The 1953. Two very different races, but with a lot of the same cars in the top 10. It's looking like that Porsche 917 #23 is going to be a tough car to beat.............but, there's still a long ways to go to the finish line!

The Rhino River race must be still on the schedule - right?

Thanks guys, for the runs and congrats to all others. I see my little Porsche RS61 has a lock on last place. There are two ways of staying out of trouble. Running first and last. First was locked up, so I went with last :D

BARC, your two cars are serious fun to race. I had great fun with them an Clive's Mirage.

They are not the fastest, but if you get their sweetspot, they are just fun to race.

The tracks look like great fun. I especially like the second ones decor.
