Some of these later cars look pretty sleek, making my Eldon bodied entry look rather primitive, but the dirty side seemed to be in good order the last time I ran it around the track. It will be very interesting to see how this plays out. Good luck to all.

Two more arrivals today - these from Arrold (arroldn). A man who hedged his team bets; one Porsche and one Ford.

The Porsche is a 906; one of my all-time favorites. The Ford is a GT-40 MkI; also a very nice car:



One more car still outstanding. Once it arrives will have a full grid.

Another car arrived today; this one all the way from Athens, Greece. Yes, Alexis (alexis in greece) is in the house, with a nice Porsche 917k. Alexis runs the IPS proxy over on the SCI board, so he's tuned in to proxy racing.

I realized that I haven't posted my own cars yet, so here they are: one Porsche 917k and one Ford GT-40 MkIV:





And..........I just got a PM from Charley; he's out of the hospital and posted his car, so I should have it by Saturday; which is a good thing, since I leave on Sunday for business and won't be back until Thursday night.

FYI - it's looking like we'll have 38 cars on the grid for Round #1 at The River Run. That's up quite a bit from last year's Ford-Ferrari Wars proxy, where we had 23 cars for the first race. Porsche seems to be a big drawing card for a lot of racers..............wonder why........ :lol:

When Charley's car arrives, we'll be locked and loaded for this series. The plan now is to run the Qualy on Friday, August 13th - why not - right? Bob Bianchi from Slot Car Corner will come down to do the qualy honors for us. And to run the race on Sunday, the 15th. Stay tuned for more info.

Thanks, but I doubt it. I decided to go urethane this time around. I've never had any real luck with them before, so what you see are really two tire experiments; fun to build though.

Thanks for your efforts with this event.

The rules are wonderfully open and it allows for much freedom in building a car. It does however state that wheels need to have an insert and/or period correct. "Wheels must have period inserts or look reasonably period for the car"

I notice a number of cars with wheels that could be considered offside on this rule, maybe I am mistaken, but clarification would be appreciated.

Hi Chris, We'll have a look at them during qualification. We've used some latitude in the definition of "period" before; for instance in last year's Ford-Ferrari Wars proxy, but we will make sure that the playing field is as level as we can reasonably get it.
