Ok, slot it never does American muscle so I got a revell monogram body (one of those on the card things) and I started a styrene chassis for it with a slot it pod and flat motor...this things gonna haul the mail!
So, instead of brass this time..all evergreen plastic stuff. Plus I can get dizzy gluing.

It's gonna work I think.

Should be good. Very interesting to see everyone's approach to this.

Fits ok...gotta run down and get a few pieces of flat and round and make some kind of guide holder.

I may do the revell 57 Ford body I have along these lines too..it's kinda easy. And there's a tad more room.

I have a 74 Ford Thunderbird classic nascar that has a chassis made using the base of a slot-it case
it is unbeatable in my clubs class racing

I guess if you think about it..slot it cars are just flat plastic anyway,and they all get it on. I just made a second one for the 57 Ford body I have here...it may be easier to work a guide into it as far as length goes. Then there's always those shapeways flexi guide things that glue to a flat surface( they're on another thread)..that would make that easy as pie too.

Playing with these plastic homebuilt chassis ',I'm kinda wondering what the thoughts on guide pin placement is? Now on this shrimpstang there isn't much choice but the 57 Ford I'm doing has more room. So, guide back or ahead? Any thoughts?

Well, I tested the 57 with a chassis like this today...it goes very well....piranha and slot it pod 9-tooth with whatever the orange gear is. I'll start a new build thread tomorrow for it.
