Got back to working on the Super Mod this morning. Cut a hole for some injectors in the hood.
Centered the injectors and traced around the out side. Then flipped them over and traced
around the stack portion to get a guide line. With the body on the frame for support, drilled
some holes to open up the hood.

Image

After some file work and some test fitting, wound up with a hole that the stacks would fit through
and left the bottom of the stacks to mount under the hood.

Image

Now we have a set of injectors that just stick through the hood, but not higher than the little cowl
piece in front of the cock pit. A nice peaceful morning with coffee and the radio.

All for now

After getting past some real life issues, finally had a chance to work on the car.
Started on making some bumpers for the car.

Image

Started by making a couple of small u-bends. These will then be attached to the frame.

Image

These will extend the frame and act as an attachment point for the rest of the bumper.
Still a long way to go but getting back into the swing after being away for awhile.

All for now

Thanks for the kind words.

Image

The u-bends are intalled and part of the bumper. Holes were drilled in thr rear of the frame and the u-bends
fitted into the holes. After drying they were sanded up and the first part of the bumper was attached
to the u-bends.

Image
Image

With the body on, there is a little room to work with and a couple more bars will be added to form the bumper.
These will be placed above and below the center bar to fill the space in the middle.

Image

Car is starting to shape up and once the rear is done, we can move to the front.

All for now

Finished the rear bumper. Two bars mounted to the center bar and the u-bends completes it.

Image
Image

These are all made from paper clips cut and ground to fit, they fit the scale well and are easy to work with.
Attached with super glue, since soldering is impossible cause of the size and the chassis being plastic.

Image

Bumper tucks up under the body just at the edge and fits the car well. A little more clean up and
we'll move on to the front and work on that.

All for now

Well the picture police have caught up with me.
I'm hoping to edit the thread as time permits and try to get back on track.
It's to bad a lot of good infomation on these threads has to go
to waste because of greed.

All for right now

Well I have spent the last few days editing this thread only becacuse it's a buid off thread.
Been using Imgur and it acts a lot like photo bucket as far as using the album part of it.
So far been happy with it. I would like to thank photo bucket for all the extra work
it has caused everybody that had used them and for screwing up a lot of the extra
if any build time many of us have. Ok enough rant, do have a couple more of the rear.

Maybe I can get back on track and catch up on the front over the week end.

Love the micro-soldering and creative kit bashing. A shame to hide that roll cage with the hard top though...

Worked on the front bumper. Keeping it simple, just a u-bend and a cross bar to complete it.

That pretty much completes the frame except for paint. We'll shoot some primer
on the body and see what kind of body work is left to be done. I'm sure there
will be some dents that got missed.

Chassis is painted and partial assembly has begun.

Wheels are from Road Race Replicas, think they will match the car
well. Not Halibrands but as close as I could get. Still have to work on a set of headers
and the driver. Once those are done the chassis will be finished. A little
touch up on the chassis will also be needed.
