Folks - I just shipped 30+ boxes this evening via USPS. ALL USA cars are heading home now, the International ones will ship on Tuesday or Wednesday when I can stand in line with 8 overseas boxes.

I'm going to add a few "tweaks" to the shipping rules for 2018 to make this a little easier next year.

Thanks Dave for running this proxy and sending our toys home.
Hope next years event is as great as this one.

Austin - actually, it is easy to keep track of them as I build a quick spreadsheet and photograph each car with it's box. The fetching Mrs. Reinecke does a great job helping me get them shipped. The boxes though...see the 2018 shipping thread. We need to get a bit better at that.

For the hosts - I've greatly simplified this for next year - we are going to Plano boxes that holds 8 cars each. It won't matter where you put them or what packing material came out of what box - they will all be the same. As a side bonus - since the Plano boxes are all the same size I won't need a monster box due to various box sizes.

See, three years in and I'm learning...

For the overseas cars (Canada, S. Africa, etc) - I've added this note to customs forms: "Model Car that is being returned to the owner after an international race."

I hope that doesn't cause any issues with the shipping.

#3 and #33 have returned home safe and sound

The Transporter dropped the cars off today, all arrived in good shape. Thanks David for hosting the 2017 event and am looking forward to the 2018 event. :text-thankyouyellow:

Both cars arrived safely today, thanks Dave.

The #31 AMC Javelin and #44 Datsun 510 (Retro Racer 44 tribute car) arrived safe and sound.
