Showdown Series Summary/Smokeys Choice

Ok, I am behind a little but it's been a busy time lately.

BEST IN SHOW!

As voted by members, and no surprise...

All of us here are a tight knit community. We all knew what this car meant. However...regardless of that, you can't deny that the finished car chosen isn't fantastic. From the paint to the design, it just looks great and earns the award.

Smokey's Choice

It is hard to pick. Some very well done efforts. Each as good as the next really.

But, have to pick:

I chose this model. Given that Mark had crafted this mold and cast it himself, not to mention the scale detail level...I just have to give credit where it is due. Just a wonderful model from top to bottom. Even the chassis had a shine on it :)

Modified Nod

Hard choices again. I never committed to choosing one...but hats off here. Just a great looking car that drove as well as it looked.

Then again, so did Padirtfan, So did Strangebrew...etc etc. In any case, I just liked it.

For the actual fun run race, Christopher took the honors. Of course with different drivers rotating, the results are usually different than the actual fast lap shootout. Still, he did build a hot rod that handled well for all drivers. Congrats! And oh, my son did NOT race it, just in case anyone was curious.

For the Fast Lap Award? Good old Norb! But check out those times. Could have been just about anyone.

Thank all of you again for a great race this year. As I update the guidelines for next year, I hope all of you spread the word and get others involved. Scratchbuilding is FUN and we owe it to newcomers and veterans alike to remind them of that :)

See you all next year.

What a wonderful outcome to this series. Thanks to all who voted for Keith's car: we will make sure his family knows about this!

Thanks for the nod it's not taken lightly here. Some mighty fine cars in this field it's wonderful to see Keith's car take the vote and I couldn't agree more with Smokies Choise. I can't help but wonder how next year could get any better :banana-dance:

If I had to decide, those would be my choices, exactly. Very happy with the outcome, and congrats to everyone.

Great choices! All the cars were fantastic, I only wish I had gotten off my butt and built one this year.
sure was some close times on these as well.
Thanks for sharing all the fun Harry, almost as good as being there! well, except for missing the food, and all the good company, and seeing the Chi-town crew, and .....well I guess it wasn't all that fun afterall........ :(
