Here is a link that will get you to all the info about the Carreras. If you check the results lists, you will get the cars that actually ran. A lot entered, but never showed up, so results is the best list to use.

Are we required to have prototypical wheels sizes on these, or is there some leeway given on the rear tire widths?

Cheers

Rules say that tires need to fit reasonably under the wheel wells. They should look right for the car.

Im sorry Dave , but i just am missing something in the eligible cars.
If a car was made in 1960 , i am missing how it is eligible.
Not a complaint, i ammjust lost in translation here.
Could please let me know what cars from 55 to 60 would be eligible
Thanks

Thanks Austin.

Bob, I think that the original idea was to make it easier to find models of cars that would qualify for the La Carrera Panamericana fun run; a larger year band made it easier to select models to run in this series. So, rather than limiting it to cars that actually ran in the 5 year period between 1950 and 1954, it was opened up to later versions of the same marques; versions that were in production up to 1960.

For the most part, the cars that were entered in last years La Carrera Panamericana series were cars that were fairly accurate representations of the cars that ran in the 1950-54 year range, and I think that most of this years cars are likely to be in that same range. But, you can go as high as 1960 if it makes building a car easier or more fun.

I'll let Sarge fill in what I've missed here.

Thanks Allan and Austin, now it is making sense to me .
Marquees that would have been eligible had the race continued past 55.
Ie Ford sedans etc
Thanks for that.

So does a 55 or 57 Chev or similar fit into the classification.
Or the equivalent in Fords etc.

To chime in - yes, the '55 or '57 would fit the intent, as Chevrolet ran a Bel Air in the races during the years that it did run.

I personally entered a '57 T-bird and a '59 Cadillac Eldorado in last years run as finding Detroit iron that is not from an undersized Palmer kit, etc in the 50-54 range is next to impossible. :)

Question on motors.
Does the motor that comes stock in the MRRC Sebring Chassis ( Long can) fit within the rules?
As they are not marked with any info, I wasn't sure. I was hoping to use this chassis as it's a great fit for my 750 Monza.
BTW Allan, got my decals tonight and they are awesome!!!!

Most MRRC motors run 18/20K. for a slim can you'll probably need to find a BWA or MT-1 motor that are about 13K

Interesting I was poking around and found on pendleslot a listing for 13k motor(slim) which is why I asked. The usual sources seem to be out of the mt sl-1slim motor. The standard won't fit the chassis I planned to use.

Hi Mike, I can send you a BWA MT1 or SL1; whichever you need, just let me know.

Best,
