I was going to buy the street car (just to own a VW) until I saw this - might the first Scalextric car I will buy in a while.

I found some pictures of the model posted on Slotforum, and the model looks quite good.
Not quite the same as the photos. This one I might be tempted to get.

this is good and bad news. If the MGB proxy goes well, I was going to see if folks wanted to do another with the blue beetle.

Yes, this little car is impressive out of the box on wood. Tom has ran the heck out of it and what a go-getter it is.

I wonder if they are going to do the Dan Gurney #9 beetle?

Just saw pics of the actual model and was a bit disappointed (but not suprised).....it appears Scaley just put a body color plug in the sunroof opening. I don't think the actual car had a "sealed up" sunroof. Other than that, looks pretty neat...lots of potential.
