Great race day :)

Postby HomeRacingWorld » Sat Sep 29, 2012 9:57 pm

Well, Bibbster and his wife visited today and we had a great time. Served up some little slider hamburgers and tater tot casserole and then hit the track.

Will post some pics tomorrow...but we had a wide variety of cars to say the least.

Big surprise was the two NSR P68's. Bibbster remotored them for my smaller track with MT's and they were a BLAST. Plus, the Spirit models we built were a great match up like we hoped.

Thanks Jeremy and Jamey for visiting and John for stopping in and racing too.

It was fun as usual...thanks John for posting those.

These were the great surprise. After putting a milder motor in them, they were perfect for my smaller track. I never had a reason to want one...until now.

The Great Spirit Challenge! This was also a fun fight. I came in second!

Bibbster brought a pair of these along he snagged from Cincy's specials. DixonJohn had a couple as well he bought a while ago and what a blast. Having these milder F1 motors in them made them a blast. You could really control them and the wrecks we had were fantastic. But since the speeds were not blinding, no harm done and the steering is just fine.

That can NOT be said for the carnage on the oval! This is how they ended up. Seems I put in a little too much guide travel in the 57, Gary slid out and went around...going the opposite way, right out of the corner. I reacted too late and POW!

Slicing and dicing the P68's

What a great one. Good people and great racing. The variety of cars we raced makes it even better. I know some folks only buy a certain brad or two...but you might want to try something different once in awhile. It really adds to the fun.

Looks like a great day. "Bibbster's Babe" sure seems like good people, and she puts up with us, so that counts! Jeremy will do, too. I love that picture with the women looking in from the laundry. How long after the picture did they wait before taking the controllers away from both of you?

I see your grabber/reacher gave up in the middle just like mine. I used green tape. All the really cool kids use green tape, ya know. Just sayin'.

Oh yeah, they raced. The General grabbed one of her Camaros and had some Trans-Am action too. Of course she beat me :)

I have a grabber with green tape too :)

Looks like y'all had a whole lotta fun!

I've had some good race days.

I've had some better race days.

I've also had some great race days.

But you know, I've never had a bad race day!

I wonder why that is?
