I wish that they'd give us more than just a couple of CG renderings to go off of. Preordering a car based on pre-production models is enough of a gamble; now we are expected to order a car having only seen a drawing? :|

(If there was a smiley-face with a tounge sticking out, I'd use it here.)

Now that my complaining is out of the way- It's great that Scaley and others continue to manufacture the smaller displacement cars of yester-year. I'm a big fan of the 50's-60's club racing scenes, and it isn't too much of a stretch to add one of these to that group. I can't wait to see the finished model! :P

as neat as the 1st release cars are, i'm kind of sore. I bought 10 and still have 9. i thought these would have been popular.

I have to admit, I passed on the first release. It was just too bland for me, with the driver looking so bleached that he and the navigator more closely resembled Casper the Friendly Ghost than a pair trudging through the Monte Carlo Rally. I was much more impressed with the detailing of this version:

...assuming of course that the production models end up looking anything like this pre-production version. ;)

The thing about this car is that they did put a milder motor in it, and it actually runs very well.
We have the first release here and get it out from time to time. Have not done a thing to it aside from a tire change.

Hey Bruce, set up an MG proxy race, sell them at a discount to your racers, and get them off your shelves. :)

I like the fact that they put a slower motor in the car, but if nobody buys them, Scalextric will get the idea that everyone wants a fast motor in every car. Next thing you know, 25k in a Mini. :)

lots of photos of the car on other forums, the pre-production shots has black bumpers but released car will have chrome.

The MG looks like a great little car
