This car might not be my cup of tea, but this series sure is getting plenty to choose from.

Heck, might end up with it anyway :)

Thanks for the update.

Not really liking this one too much. I personally like the Fly version better and they ran pretty good too.

This is the first of the Gr5 series from Sideways that just does nothing for me. Perhaps in another livery but...
I'm with Lee, the Fly version is much more appealing, and it's one of Fly's best running cars to boot.

That's not bad, but the one they posted on facebook was much nicer.

I like this one better than the Fly, but everyone has there own tastes. To me it just looks racier and low slung. :) Maybe it's the absence of the rear window?

I too wish that Racer had decided on the same body style as the Fly M1. This one does almost nothing for me. I may skip the first livery and see what the future liveries look like.

The Fly M1 represents a Group 4, rather than Group 5, race car which is much more production based.

I agree - I think the Fly looks better but they are each clearly based on different versions of the M1. It seems by 1981, aerodynamics had taken over - kinda reminds me of the Carrera Pantera Grp 5 - panels added everywhere!
I Googled quite a few liveries but this one stood out:

I gotta believe this one will be a better racer - it is low and muuuuuch wider than the Fly due to the panels!

There will be several liveries of this car in the future. I seen some on the HotSlots 132 pre-order page for Racer. :)

Interesting, but probably wrong, that one of the future BMW M1s listed on the Hotslots pre-order page is the BASF #12 showing the same body work as the Fly version. As it is an image of the real car and not a slot car it is most likely shown in error. Nothing I have read indicates they are producing two body styles.

I think now that I will wait til the second body style is released. And/or get the Scaleauto team Seelex which looks to be the closest to the Fly body style.

Hi everibody, just for a complete information would like to inform that we will produce both
versions of Group 5 BMW M1. I mean Schnitzer M1 (at first as SW23 and SW25) and Sauber M1
body style. We will soon spread photos of preproduction sample of Sauber version as raced in Le
Mans 24hrs 1982 in OLYMPUS colors.

Also for a complete information, M1 FLY produced some time ago was a Group 4 / PROCAR
while both Schnitzer and Sauber versions we are going to produce were Group 5.

Of course all liveries and colors will follow at a later stage.
