Bolton's Speed Shop latest builds.....

Postby BRP32 » Thu Aug 22, 2013 5:26 pm

Things have been kind of slow due to Summer as of late so Bolton's Speed Shop decided to crank out a few more builds around other obligations currently and post them up.

Here are the latest builds.

First up is a Revell snap tite '67 firebird kit body on a scaley T/A chassis.

Ficticious paint scheme created by Bolton's Paint Works.....

Just something a little different to stand out.

The Superbird is a stock Carrera body on a Monogram Revell vintage stocker chassis with custom painted after market wheels I had in the old parts bin.

Just a few builds around all the other Summer activities....

Enjoy!

Looks good.

Slow? Not around here. Besides myself, there are quite a few builds going on, not to mention new tracks being built :)

Nice looking cars. I always like seeing what people can do with model kits. That looks great. The paint scheme is sort of like that Porsche 550 that you did before. The beginnings of a racing team? ;)

And I'm still building, but slow is my usual pace.

Thanks guys!

No knock to the board or anyone on it in regards to being slow in any way.

I guess I was just referring to it being slow in the hobby in general for me at least due to the time of the year being Summer.

Its all good and I just like to make contributions if and when I can between all of life's demands......

My paint schemes tend to fixate on a certain scheme or style at times.

Yeah the Firebird and the Porsche could have been the start of a race team.....

The Porsche was sent out to David (shotgundrg) on the west coast and is now being used by him to cast resins off of.

Another way of spreading the love in the hobby......

You really should enter that Firebird in the LeMay Museum TransAm Challenge coming up in October. It would be an outstanding entry in their Modified class. They are taking both in-person and mail-in entries.

And early next week we will be announcing a contingency award program for competitors in the event.

My current 2 car Firebird racing team at Bolton's Speed Shop and Paint Works.....

I built the orange #90 Firebird about 10 years ago when I was into 1/32 the first time around.

About 2005 I sold off my whole collection of cars and my track when my wife and I had the birth of our daughters.

The orange #90 Firebird went to a good friend of mine on the boards here Greg (eeprof).

He owned it up until about two years ago when I came back into the hobby of 1/32 again for good.

He was nice enough to part with it and send it back to me.

It is the only car I have from my original collection of about 200 cars from 10 years ago.

I wish I had that collection still but you do what you need to do when your family has needs.....

So now to present day the original #90 Firebird of mine has been paired up with my newest built #3 Firebird in the Bolton's Speed Shop team so to speak.

How can you not love this hobby?

ED Tech,

I will consider entering a few into your proxy race.

Mine are not really modified really.

Just a Firebird snap tite kit body on a stock scalextric T/A chassis.....

No more modified than a stock Scalextric T/A car.....

I'm impressed! I wish I could put my slot cars in the washer and dryer and have them come out like that, accept mine would be color faded and wrinkled. Those are some very nice cars you have there.

Thanks guys for the comments!

I decided to change things up a bit recently.

I put revell monogram vintage stocker red wheels on the red firebird recently.

It looks pretty sweet!

Check it out in the pic below.

Hey Wayne,
Those cars look good!!!

Glad I could contribute the #7 body & return your Firebird to you!!!

That Firebird did win me a couple of races while in my possession!
