The drop down guide is not realy for doing wheelies, it's more for keeping the guide in the slot on a track that may not be as smooth as a sheet of glass. As the car bounces around due to the seams in the track or other imperfetions, or out of round tires, the guide stays in the slot. Or at least on paper that is how it's supose to work. The tires back then didn't realy have enough grip to do much of a wheelie.

For braids, try here, http://www.fantasyworldhobbies.com/slot ... t=featured Look for BRM wood track braids pt#BRMS025, or Revell/Monogram pt#MON5117.

I have these wheel inserts in resin. I'll put one in with the motor (this morning).
