Question

Postby racer6583 » Wed May 01, 2013 6:18 am

Has anyone bought an autoart slot car?

If so how are they to run, I know almost every car you get needs some tuning/tweaking I ask for your opinion cause I found a couple that I like but never heard of them I found them on Ebay for a good price.

Any info that you all can provide will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Several, yeah. What you get will vary greatly depending on which model you choose. It will also make a big difference if you are planning to run them mag or no-mag. Also, if you are performance oriented, you may not like them, though some of them can be very quick with magnets and careful driving. They are not for ham-fisted drivers, so if your nickname is 'Crash' or 'Captain Calamity', this is the wrong brand for you.

Regardless of the model you choose, you can expect a high-revving motor, light braking, and not-so-good tires. But your car will look good. :)

Awesome, two of the cars I haven't driven. lol I've owned 8 of their cars and driven 3 others, but not those two. :) Wouldn't mind picking up that Alfa, because they've done a really nice job on the bodywork.

One thing to be wary of, on the GT3 it was reported that the tires expanded on the wheels, which can cause some trouble. That happened with more than one of their cars, so be prepared for that.

I have the BMW M3 and the mustard colored Mustang GT. Even after replacing the rear hubs and tires with some that were wider and had better grip both cars were only so-so on my Scaley sport track. On wood though the BMW is easily as good or better than the same car from Fly, Ninco or Carrera. The mustang, while better on wood is still not something I would choose to race. But it sure is purty.

I'm getting the Alfa and thanks for the heads up on the Porsche tires how would you fix the tires expanding?

Can you just glue them down or do you need to change the rims and tires?
