Slot.it Audi R18 TDI #CW12 Questions? Mods?

Hey everyone. I'm pretty new to slot cars and am learning quickly thanks to everyone in this hobby. I love the forums. So much information in them. Thanks.

I have a Slot.it #CW12 Audi R18 TDI anglewinder with a broken guide. It'll run exclusively on routed wood tracks. I see there are several choices out there just even in Slot.it. CH84, CH112 and CH88b. What are the main differences and which should I go with. I'm thinking CH112 because of the wood tracks we run on (as it looks deeper due to running in deeper slots), however the CH88b looks like a longer guide than than the CH112. Suggestions?

Another question I have for those using this car. We run on Yellow Dog Urethane tires here and I'm wondering which version has been more successful. I've read there are a couple of good choices. One review suggests the 1410R and another suggests the 2102RY. The car will run in an open Slot.it class. So taller/wider wheels are fine too.

CH112 should work and can be trimmed if your ride height is lower. If your running with the Kelowna guys their tips are the best so listen and learn. In a nut shell loosen up your pod, cover with reinforced packing tape if rules allow, lower your front so the guide sits deep in the slot,loosen your body screws, hard as nails fingernail paint on the front tires. If everyone is running Yellowdogs join them, although I don't endorse the product for my own reasons. The Y behind the number is for yellow dogs.
