962

Postby War Eagle River » Sat Sep 07, 2019 5:15 pm

This little Diddy came my way today, via New Jersey, compliments of Ray Lego. Hell, I’ve already tuned it and ran about 100 laps!! Even my son ran it, and he’s darn lucky I didn’t have it in time for our Group C race this morning! I would have cleaned his clock! It’s the fastest Group C car in my stable! Wicked fast! To add, I usually change these 956/962’s to a sidewinder. Not this one. Its very nimble and handles like a dream! I have many many fast Group C cars, but this one is about .25 faster than my fastest. Uncanny. Put a set of rear QS CB33’s, and a set of NSR 5201’s on the front. Changed the crown to a 27t, and the pinion to a 10t. .005 washers on the front, adjusted front axel height...and away it went... As you know, once in a while a car will come along that just hauls the mail, with very little effort. And this is one of them! I’d put this up against any Group C in the country. Wicked fast! Did I already say that?! Have only had a few inline set ups that were decent, but this one...man oh man!

That is a Porsche 962. The 956 is the original version, for safety reasons the 962 had a slightly longer wheelbase and to keep the overall length the same the nose of the car is a little shorter.
