a rather unproper Morgan Aero 8

Postby tracyridge » Wed Jul 24, 2019 5:48 pm

Hi All
thought I would post a few pictures of a SCX Morgan Aero 8 that I repainted. Now I always liked this car, its uniquely vintage look stands out on a GT grid. only problem was the paint schemes were, in my opinion, butt ugly, well I guess the dewalt power tools one was ok ,but it did nothing for me.
After coming across one on epay, at a good price, I picked it up.
I did the standard soak in alcohol, strip it , wash it dry it, routine . Then a coat of white primer, then came the yellow, 2 light coats, then holding the red spray can about 2 and half to 3 feet away from the body, I made multiple light passes from above the body until I was happy with the look. Some water slide decals and future wax finished it up.
The chassis I left stock, did some tuning,{ we race a digital wood track no mags} , and swapped out the plastic wheels for some aluminum, { pronounced- AL- lo-minum :P } rims . In short a pretty good runner that can keep up with the Carreras and Flys we race.
Thanks for looking

John

thumbs up on the paint creativity!!

Always liked the style, never liked the drivability of the SCX, jealous that you have a very unique ride and keeps up with the competitors!!
