Ferrari 250 SWB

Postby BARC 1 » Wed Apr 24, 2019 4:39 pm

I popped a bunch of shells of one of,if not my favorite car, the Ferrari 250 SWB. The first one had some flares added to the rear fenders. The car has an inline Brass chassis powered with a Piranha motor. It has a low COG and a wide track to make the most out of it

Wire wheels are from BRM.

Sweet
That came out great, love the SWB's.
So hard to find under 100 bucks, any more than that you can't run them out of fear

That is a great model of a great car....very nice work, sir.

Is that Molotow chrome pen work around the windows?

Foil on the windscreen, and yes to the molotow pens around the other windows. Pictures are a good way to show the problems areas. I am not exactly happy with the way the windows look. I may fashion some wire frames for a better look. Either that or I need to spend more time on prepping the resin around the widows to improve the look.

Just finishing up my second one, which I have painted silver.

Here is an updated shot of the First 250 SWB I did. I never had any mirrors or windshield wipers added in my earlier photos. As this is scratch built I fashioned the wipers out of foil and thin elastic thread. The mirrors are made from hole punched aluminum can pieces with melted Elastic thread for arms. This was then painted with a Molotow Chrome pen. I find these detail methods to be very well suited to slot cars. The foil wipers are stuck to the windshield and never come off, and the Mirrors flex when bumped, and once installed I have never lost one.
