The Monogram Thunderbird will work perfectly. The wheelbase and track width are perfect. Only a minor alteration to the front and rear of the chassis along with making a tray interior and mounting posts will be needed to mount the T'bird on the Monte Carlo chassis. The T'bird kit comes with vinyl press on stickers for Donnie Allison's car.

Now that the 2019 scaley line has been announced with the T'bird I am debating about making the conversion.

I just discovered something odd about the Scaley Monte Carlo. It seems that they over cut the rear wheel wells. Most likely to keep the car low without making the wheel track too narrow. While applying a set of Piedmont Airlines Ricky Rudd from Jim Heller the word Piedmont was way too big to fit over the rear wheel well. Since I couldn't find the livery on a fastback Monte Carlo I thought maybe the earlier Monte Carlos had a larger area above the wheel well but after looking at several fastback MCs they all appear to have plenty of room for a sponsor decal above the wheel well. Has anyone else noticed this? I'm just cutting away the portion of the decal that falls over the open wheel well.

Just got the Green Monte Carlo and planning to turn it into a Skoal Bandit car. How are you guys getting the interior tray out without breaking the little tabs ? Or do you just break them and glue it back in after the repaint ? Thanks

Flex the body and use a small flat tip. But yeah had one pop. Just hot glue and ready to go.
