The green party from Saskie will be missed, too bad - as it really should be something this year...at least the extent of planning time spent so far tells me that ... which is why the sudden urgency to get a car ready. I had hoped to build up several rolling test chassis', but 1 is a good start! :lol:

PS re: the plate, I actually do have a metal piece glued underneath - as you're right, it can warp it even more! :doh:

Isn't it ironic? Or more "Murphyistic" perhaps? That one of, if not THE most important aspect of slot car preparation, i.e. tyre prep, is also the most time consuming, tedious and boring?

We still need to do some testing so, even though I only last week ordered the appropriate hand out tyres, I still have to prepare some wrong-but-representative tyres for testing on Friday. All still part of the final-final car setup and selection, even though we are pretty much sure which one we will go with. And then, once we have confirmed our selected car to Tom and receive the handout motor and tyres, I will do the tyre thing all over again. Multiple times. All because I am STILL not sure which of the two allowed tyre sizes would be best!

Next time: have the courage of our convictions to say that all the NSR classics are so close in performance so it doesn't matter which one we choose, pick one, stay with it, decide early on that the different tyres sizes won't make a big difference, pick one size, stay with it, prep the car and go racing.

hey Tom, another rule minutia question :roll: :

Rule 2 Chassis b) states: You must use the most updated chassis designed for your car; and more specifically only the EVO medium black version which has the front axle set screw holders...

but the Approved Parts by Car section shows both the earlier (non adjustable front axle) and later (adjustable front axle) chassis numbers, e.g. for the Ford Mk IV 1322 (non adjustable front axle) and 1428 (adjustable front axle), Ford GT40 Mk II 1369 (non adjustable) and 1434 (adjustable front axle), similarly for Ford P68 and Porsche 917.

Which is correct?
