Scalextric future new car wish list

Well, being a Mustang guy, I'll second that suggestion for the new style Mustang GT.

Since the former employer apparently bailed on their 289 Cobra after so few authentic liveries, I'll suggest a proper 289 FIA Cobra with the cut-back doors. It would go well with the Jaguar E-type.

And since Hornby is a British company, classic British sports cars seem to be very under-represented. They could start with reissuing the Lotus 7 with the long fenders. An announced one about five years ago got pulled when the mold already existed. How about some Triumphs, Austin Healeys, and other MGs besides the MGB.

How about a urethane tire compound from the factory?
I’d love a tire that grips on plastic and wood with sidewall lettering.

It would be awesome if Scalextric released some modern Trans Am 1/32 slot cars - Camaro, Challenger and Mustang. These cars would appeal to a wide audience since they are cool for both young and old. Also, If done right they could also do some cool street versions of the cars.

How about a stock MK 1 and MK2 Ford Capri? They're still hugely popular in England (and across Europe and the world). Scalextric already must have the molds for the MK2/3 stock body, they released it in the 80's, although it always seemed a bit small. As far as MK1, the Mk1 RS2600 & 3100 models were UK made. Fly, Carrera and Sideways all make beautiful flared Group 5 Mk3 versions, and Carrera and SRC make some very good MK1 RS2600/3100 box and bubble flares, but no one has ever made a non-flared Capri. I'd remind Dave that many years ago Carrera wouldn't import their first MK1 RS2600 because they didn't feel there was a market. I drove up (in a 1973 MK1 Capri) to meet Dave at the now defunct Niagara Hobby in Buffalo and showed him a resin cast stock bodied car I had made and plead the case for bringing their car to the US, and the rest is history. Now it's time for someone to release a true stock body. I predict it would be huge! A far as others, how about a Mk1, II, III, IV Spitfire, a GT6, Tr7/8 Maybe even a TVR. Sunbeam Tiger? All of these cars are iconic and much loved sportscars that have never been reproduced in scale. How about a Mustang II? I could sell as many MK1 Capri resin casts as I could make but I don't want to be sued by Ford!

How about some more versions of the "new" Daytona Prototypes to go with the Fords?

Corvette, Cadillac and Mazda spring to mind. Lots of liveries and these should be good-handling slot cars.
