Curious if you’ve contacted the manufacturer.
At the price of these things, those wheels shouldn’t be acceptable to anyone, nor should the purchaser have to poney up money to replace them (but sometimes it’s just easier).
The next question: would you, or the gifter, purchase another LMM car?

Of course contacted. Standard answer: "Yours must be the only one".

With the upgrades they have made in the chassis area, I had high hopes.

So did the friend of mine who purchased them...one for each of us. He is the one who contacted me and we discussed the issues on both cars. Identical wheel bore issues.

With this issue on not one but TWO models? I can't say I could recommend it.

If others have good wheels, good for them. But this means a "crap shoot" and hoping you get the right quality.
At the low numbers these are produced, I don't like the odds.

Unless you really, really want the car body.

EDIT
***We purchased wheels we knew were reliable quality. Quite frankly, if these wheels are what they felt were "ok" then I certainly do not want to wait around for another set from them.
The car is here and the extra investment was worth it to have it on the track where it belongs.***

what about going with a 2mm axle?

If I want to order a new gear. And bushings. And even then, the bore is not consistent...so not sure I would be happy.

The cost is more for wheels, but I would rather stay with 3/32nd.

I expect bad wheels on a $35 Fly car.
I get good wheels (even good plastic wheels) on slot.it / Polistil cars for $50 or so.

Above that, you better deliver good wheels, even if the car doesn't run well at least IMHO. Those are awful. I can 3D print better wheels.

As good as a car may look, it has to at least be able to run out of the box. I've never owned an LMM before, and that's due to all of the things I've read about the running condition of their cars. While I could probably justify buying a car that looks that good, there ain't no way I'm spending another 20 bucks just to get it to run on the track. That's horse puckey.

Bummer... very unusual for aluminum wheels to be off-center, bent maybe?

oh well... my LMM's are sweeeet.

More for me....

My one and only LMM's is the worst car I own - the car literally was falling apart. The wheels wouldn't stay on and the grub screw threads were stripped on two of the wheels. Pieces were falling off the car as soon as I got it- I finally got tired of trying to keep up with keeping things glued on, so now it just sits in it's box with more pieces that need gluing. Never again.

LMM's are definitely not Slot-it robust nor NSR light, but they have their place

1- LMM's makes LM cars no one else does.

2- They are currently the only top tier LM car in detail.*

3- These are pre-painted, pre-detailed, pre-assembleld kits**

* Racer no longer produces Resin LM cars.
**RTR not so much, Blue Printing not required but makes a huge difference.

Well that is sad news to hear on the wheels.
No sale here, not at those prices.

Shameful really, where is the QC on these expensive investments.
Its almost like a company that creates a great brand , then slacks off and runs on its name. Shameful for such an obvious mistake.

I understand now from viewing the video the issue. I am wondering if a less expensive fix may be to bore the wheel to accept brass inserts that are proper 3/32 id.

I could do that. I'm just lazy and don't want to :) And you need to know (if you didn't already) I am NOT the world's finest machinist! :)

Ordered the wheels last night, so soon on the road.

Some work accomplished:

1. Removed plastic bushings. Filed chassis at bushing opening to allow smoother install for new bushings. Installed Sloting Plus Victor II self-aligning bushings.
2. Removed motor and replacing with Classic Tuna

I'm glad Jesla has decent cars. The models on the outside are extremely well done. They just deserve the same attention underneath. They have changed to a better chassis and made the attempt to improve over earlier releases. Just not quite there yet. I am hoping the artist who does the bodies would slide over to the wheel dept :)
