It is my understanding that all new models from Slot.it will have a pocket to fit a Carrera digital chip. I don't know when that announcement was made, so I can't reference "new cars". First, is that correct information? What cars are available now from Slot.it with the Carrera pocket? Are any other makers using a pocket to fit a Carrera chip? I know there are chassis available, asking about RTR cars. Thanks in advance.

You can tell what cars come with the adapter by looking on the Slot.it site and checking the chassis. If it's listed as a "b" chassis (a "b" at end of chassis part number) it likely has the adapter and it will be listed when you look at the info on each car, and listed also in the parts list. Compare the chassis in the parts list to the car series number, and you can figure out what car comes with the newer chassis. Note that some cars have updated chassis so you can't assume all of a particular model has the adapter. For example only the two latest livery releases of the Mclaren F1 have the " b" chassis, and the earlier ones do not. The chassis though can be retro fit to older releases... Once you look at a picture of a compatible chassis you will see the extra holes to accommodate the chip and what to look for. Similar for the Toyota 88c, latest livery has the new chassis. As another example, In the Porsche 962 series, the IMSA releases (Miller Lite) are compatible.

Keep in mind while the chip will fit in, you will have to cut and solder the braid and motor wires to the chip wires.

Example: Porsche 956 C LH - Series CA02g and CA02h comes with newer chassis CS02T-60b which is compatible. CA02a through CA02f are not compatible as they have the original chassis.

Thanks Racer, that helps a lot. I am assuming that the interior on the Slot.it has been molded to allow room for the chip, so no trimming?

In most cases yes, but I can't guarantee that's the case for all of them.

Slot.It makes really nice cars so the chip install is really worth it even with a bit of soldering required...

Yes, Buspor, I did just switch back from the "tyranny o' digital" to analog. As you well know, many of my racing friends prefer digital. I don't want to lose that connection. Digital can be a lot of fun, as evidenced by the last Tourenwagen races. Since going back to analog I have realized how much I missed driving many of my other cars - some that can never be chipped (Spirit BMW 2002, Rev-o-gram King Cooper are a few) but are great to drive. So, I am back to analog, but staying active with digital too. This way my racing friends can have a place to drive analog cars and I can still race digitally when I want. When it comes to toy cars, I'll come out and admit that I am a bi-slotter.

The Slot.it website contains a wealth of information including whether a given model is Carrera D132 compatible. Not sure when this information started to be included so Slot.it may not have updated older model product info to include it? More recent models definitely include it. Here's how to check.

Step 1 - Visit the Slot.it website (slot.it)

Step 2 - Click on "Models" (see picture below)

Step 3 - Find the model you are interested in and select it. For this example, I selected the Audi R18 TDI (see picture below).

Step 4 - Find the specific model. In my example, I wanted to check the Audi R18 TDI part number SICA24C (note: it will be listed as "CA24C"). Click on the "i" button to view information about that specific car (see picture below).

Step 5 - Look in the lower right hand corner of the information page. You'll see a "Carrera D132" entry. In this example, the Audi R18 TDI car number SICA24C is compatible.
