Just for the Halibut...

Postby Dogsbody » Mon Jan 29, 2018 6:46 pm

Your run of the mill AutoArt Miura SV. No, it's not a roundy round car... :P Built for my local Vintage club race in the Exotics class. The same class where they consider a Porsche 928 an exotic and not a Porsche 934 Turbo... I'm still scratching my head over that.

HRS sidewinder chassis with a 21.5K Slot it motor. Getting a driver in there was a royal pain in the nether regions and grinding the stock wheels to make inserts also was a bit of a pain.

Yep, well done......looks great! I really like the Lamborghini Miura. I've considered buying that slot car more than once. Might just have to pull the trigger. :D

Phenomenally brilliant idea mating the 2. If Auto Art sold bodies only......

Thanks for the kind words, gents! Along the same vein here's another of my AutoArts. This time is a C-type with a brass chassis under it by way of a certain Mr. Samson. A brilliant runner and I won our vintage Le Mans class with it. Actually, anyone could've won with it, it was that easy to drive. ScaleAuto 18K motor and NSR wire wheels.

AutoArt has some nice looking cars, however they were not good running cars. It’s nice to see them done well and running great to boot. I might just be tempted to put a brass and wire chassis under my Porsche Carrera.

I have always liked the Miura, it reminds me somewhat of the Pantera. Great job mating that chassis to the body.

Lord help me, but I LOVE the Muira.
Something about the car is just plain dead sexy. I got to be close at Taste of Italy last summer.

I love this build. I have been toying with doing it as well, so it's great inspiration!
Nicely done.

Good stuff and food for thought. I have both of those waiting in the wings for a bit of TLC.
