Silly forum private messaging question

I received a private message from a HRW member and replied. My reply and my own additional new PMs show up in my user panel as in my outbox but do not show up as sent. Were the messages sent or not?

Yes. They stay in your outbox until the recipient opens and reads is. Sort of like a read receipt so you know they got it.

As long as the message is still in the outbox you can add to it as well
