Yep i agree Harry , your list works , and your criteria for judgement is sound.
I had the same 2 as you but in a different order.
I love the open wheel Classic F1 cars as thats what i grew up with, and then Trans Am of course Mosport hosted a lot of Can Am races too.
From the look of the poll so far i cant disagree with the leading Javelin.
And i also have found it to be competitive with the other TA cars even sidewinders .
Good Poll sir
Bob

Just been reading through this thread, and while I also enjoyed the Javelin, I too had the same questions as to why the Sideways Lambo and Revoslot Porsches, Thunderslot new Can-Am Lola etc were left off the list.

Perhaps, and this is just a suggestion, have Harry provide an outline of what criteria qualify for a SCOTY, then have members nominate cars and then conduct the polling from there.

Would probably address much of what had to be explained/justified.

Our two cents.... ;)

As I said, did not get the Lambo in time for review. Nor the Revo Slot. This was a list from the reviews I published.

But good point and I will remember this for next year.

I did mention at the start that others should chime in with their thoughts. So some have given the Sideways and a few others high marks and praise. That is the important thing. It helps newcomers and others choose the next car.

Maybe something like this would work for next year. Here are my thoughts. Maybe we could have a category for home racing - Scalextric/Carrera/Pioneer etc (or any other manufacturers that would fit here). Then, have another category for commercial racing - Slot it/NSR/Thunderslot/Mr.Slot Car/Revo Slot etc.

Again, just a thought or suggestion. This way, we can compare apples to apples. As you have mentioned Harry, one just cannot compare a home racing car to a commercial car .... Just not fair.

Maybe a poll can be set up this year for Slot it/NSR/Thunderslot/Mr.Slot Car/Revo Slot. That way those who are mentioning these cars can get their vote on. :auto-driving: :D

That is a very good idea. Maybe you are right, it is time to do this.

In fact I will set that up and we can run it again.

Javelin. Period. New mold of a new car in one of the longest running racing series in slot cars.

Sure, I’m biased (as is every respondent) but I couldn’t care about another Porsche - no knock on Revo, but that was not as big news this year if you ask me.
