Revo Slot 1/32 Porsche 911 GT2 -Please Help!- =Solved!=

Postby ePilot » Mon Nov 06, 2017 4:14 pm

Hi everybody,

Does anyone know how to de-mount the flag holder (appropriate term?) without destroying it?
That red thing...

Regards Gerrit

From the images I have seen on 132slotcar and Pendleslotracing it looks like the guide holder is 2 pieces

Not sure if that gets you any further though!

Thanks Mark,

I know it's two-piece, but not that there's no thread on it!
Probably the RS people used Loctite so I think the burner needs to be hotter the second time! I this tried before with no result...

It may be an interference fit, saving on glue...
You may need a pin punch to drive the 2 pieces apart.

Hi Mark,

Problem solved!
Exactly as you told.
I made an improvised tool. A 7.1mm hole in a piece of 12mm brass and a 3.95mm brass driver.
And a little blow with a small hammer...

Curiosity has the best of me and I have to ask, why did you need to remove the guide post holder?

Do you have a better idea or solution than what was there?

Thanks Mark!

@nhdungeonracer:

If I get a new type of car then I always disassemble it till latest bolt...
and that includes the guide post holder too...
Thats my kind of curiosity...
In the subsequent assembly session I always try to improve something. Yes, sometime it fails...
I am also investigating the possibilities of using a pipguide (slideguide) by PipSlot in this model
Here you will find the history of the development of the Pipguide by PipSlot:

Ah, I get that...

They say curiosity kills the cat, but sometimes that's how you learn things too...

Carry on, my friend! :D

Did anyone find a 3/32 bearing that would work for the Revo Slot chassis?

Hi Buster,

You could use the Scaleauto SC-1329 flanged ball bearings 3/32 x 6mm. However not very cheap!
Beware if you order them then it is possible that these bearings are wrongly packaged with a wrong number (SC-1324). Like mine!
There are other sources too.

In the left you see the 3/32" bearing:

Here I have them applied too. With the usual NSR, Slot.it etcetera stuff.:
