Can you measure the width between the rear hub flanges. MM's please... can't do fractions! I have a bunch of Mini-Z RC sizes that fit that style hub.

How many extra roll bars, er, wings does it include? Will they be available as a replacement part?

With the white kits, you get three different rear wings. Waiting for the primer to dry right, Jagermeister (sp) paint & decals planned

Slot.it foam tyres fit the hubs

3mm axles are the standard for European and Japanese metal chassis slot cars and as these are made by BRM I guess they used the same as they put on their other cars

It is standard for scale 1/24th car's, has nothing to do with the chassis material.

well you lost me there don't recall saying it did have anything to do with chassis material I just mentioned that 3mm axles is what is used in metal chassis cars (Plafit Scholer etc) in Europe and Japan (1/32 and 1/24 ) as some folk may not be aware of this. Given BRM make plastic and metal chassis 1/24 cars that is most likely why they chose 3mm over 3/32

Of course Carrera also use 3mm axles for their 1/24 cars as do Scaleauto for their metal chassis and soon to be released 1/24 plastic chassis cars......

This could be a weapon...

I received mine today. First impressions:

1. Not the prettiest 911 model I have seen but not bad. It seems like the flares on the wheels might be somewhat exaggerated: looks rather "bulgy" both front and rear. The nose also seems less sloped and a bit higher than pictures I have seen of the real car. Generally looks "heavy".
2. Paint and tampo work looks good. On my car (the blue & silver "Navision" #65) it seems the whole front end (which I am still inclined to call a bonnet but in deference to the North American nature of this board I will call a hood) seems to be covered by one rather big decal rather than tampo. Not totally clear to me (no pun intended... HA) if it is clear coated or not but I THINK it is.
3. The chassis is an excellent piece of engineering. Very solid, very precise. As others mentioned, the slightly protruding motor mounting screws are somewhat out of character with the rest of the execution of the car. To me the black anodising looks great. Looking at it there can be no doubt why this is a somewhat expensive car.
4. Tyres seem to be quite soft rubber similar to NSR Ultragrips. I trued mine: behaves like NSR tyres as well. Wheels are round, tyres quite well made (bettter than average NSR tyres, which is hit & miss in terms of quality).
5. Front tyres were touching the inside of the wheel wells. Fortunately I had some BRM 3mm spacers (for 1/24th cars) so I replaced installed spacers with something a bit thinner. All is good now.
6. Gear mesh seemed rather loose. I shimmed out the spur by about 0.5mm: lash seems more appropriate now. The motor shaft is a bit on the short side: the pinion protruded beyond the end of the motor shaft when I got it. Because I moved the spur a bit further out I had to pull the pinion off even further to get the pinion to engage the full face of the spur. The mesh still feels a bit rough but I have found the 1/24 BRM's to be like this as well. As others have mentioned I expect it to be somewhat noisy on the track.

I have oiled the bearings and greased the gears: now it is ready for battle. Overall it feels very solid and the installed tyres feel grippy. As per the title of the post I suspect this will be quite quick. I would be rather disappointed if it does not do a sub-seven second lap on Luf's Targa track. I will be taking it to our regular Friday evening's racing and report back. Prediction? 6.75 second lap.

Mine arrived today - I like it
I have spent many hours trying to get cars to run as well as this one does after a light sand of the tyres and a bit of oil on the bearings etc
looking forward to the next release - a Marcos would be nice.

Hhmm, I never did update my post...

Two important things:

1. I was really silly in my adjustment of the mesh on the car: OBVIOUSLY I should have moved the motor (as is standard with BRM 1/24 cars....) and not mess around with the gears! As one Mr. B Bunny used to say "What a maroon!". More grammatically correctly I will just say I was a bit of a moron and leave it there.

2. Most importantly: in the header to my original post I said "This could be a weapon". Boy, was that ever proven true! This car is fast. VERY fast! Like blow-my-lap-time-estimate-out-of-the-water fast! I postulated a best lap of 6.75 seconds (which is already very fast). But in reality I got a 6.508 second lap out of it! This is really very, very fast. Fast like I do not believe any car run in a recent proxy on Luf's new track has gotten that kind of lap time fast.

I really like it. Now all I have to do is adjust the mesh the PROPER way.... Oh well, as Forrest Gump said: "Stupid is as stupid does."

I just got my Navision # 64 car Friday thanks Allen. This is one of my best looking 911's and like everybody says the chassis is awesome. I went thru the car using some of the tips given above, thanks guys. My clubs runs on an wood track cars using silicon tires. For now I'm using supper tires with a rubber o ring for the tire channel on the car. In addition I opened up the body screw holes a little and added lock tight to the body screws. Also I added a peace of tape to the bottom of the chassis. I broke the motor in on a test block for about an half hour. Just like stated this car is smooth and fast on par with a stock slot it. The cool thing about this car no chassis flatting required the car rails thru the turns. The only problem I have is after about an half hour of running my motor has dropped off pace. I thought it just might be breaking in but it didn't pick back up. After a break I tried running again, it stared off ok but after a few laps it dropped off again. Has anybody else experienced this problem with their motor.
