BBR/MBslot Ferrari F430 Challenge

Postby valie » Thu Sep 07, 2017 9:14 am

Since I don’t race at the club anymore and I’m building my own home track, I’ve decided to buy cars that I’d like to have and which do not need to be super competitive. So, I’ve ordered the BBR/MBslot Ferrari F430 Challenge kit, more out of like the car and curiosity. I do like the looks of this car and I hope that it does not disappoint when it finally hits the track.

When the car finally arrived, the postman being late, and as I took the car out of the parcel, I heard something rattling. It happened to be the guide flag, which had broken off. I replaced it with a Slot.it guide and while assembling the rear axle, found the supplied crown gear not suitable for racing and replaced that with one from the spares stash. Here is the completed chassis:

Some more pictures of the completed car.

There’s just something that I miss when I look at this car …

Yeah, I’ve figured it out! What kind of GT race car doesn’t have a wing?

So it became a simple fix …

Looking good! I have some of these cars and I do really like them. I haven't gotten them to be as fast as I feel they could go but they seem to have a lot of potential. Technically it's a cup class type of car with a stock body, so no wing was on these cars in real life... however your addition does look nice!

Bigman, I think the motor is 22000 rpm motor with 380 g/cm.

If I do go to the club, as my son has threatened with, then I will give it a run.
