Out of subject but great souvenirs...
I remember that #6 car driven by Mark Donohue for Roger Penske during the great years of TRANS-AM series that were run in the late 60's et early 70's.
I saw those cars run at Watkins Glen NY, Bryer in Loudon NH and at the Circuit Mont-Tremblant in Quebec, Canada.

The liveries that are supposedly coming are completely distinct from the red, white, and blue. I haven't seen them, but there weren't that many, were there?

Harry, did you try a black wash on the grills? When I took photos of my Javelin, the grill was so shiny, I had to stop and do a black wash just to get a proper picture.

Roy Woods American racing Associates bought the two 1970 Penske Javelins and raced them with 1971 sheet metal. The cars were #68 and 69, they were yellow with black trim. For 1972 an ex 1971 Penske car was raced by Bill Collins with a blue and yellow Minnesota Fighting Saints livery.

Rob, those cars were all announce early this year.

And it's yellow and blue, not white.

There might be some other options as well. Nothing verified.

Not to mention some Street options.

What was yellow and white? I got lost here somewhere. I like #88 and #2 above very much, but I plan to have all of them anyway.

He said the Fighting Saints was blue and white. It's blue with yellow markings.

And then ARCA with Bill Clemens

And a slight change here

It is a mold that has many possibilities. With the changes at Scalextric recently, I think we will see some surprising USA molds. This one is just getting started.

I never knew there had been an ARCA Javelin. I wouldn't have guessed it was a legal car for it. Now that I think about it, there were other non-fullsize cars in ARCA, after all. Lots of Chevelles (Malibu), Coronets, etc.

Happy 4th, right back atcha, Harry.

The #63 blue & yellow Javelin with Miron sponsorship is a later version of a Penske - Donohue car. Jocko Maggiacomo won the Trans Am championship with it in 1976. The fact a 6 year old car won shows the big bucks from factory teams had left the sport in '72.

The #6, #1, and #63 Javelin might in fact all be different versions of the very same car - the original Penske-Donohue car.

Scalextric may claim the #63 livery they release, driven by Billy Collins, was a Trans Am champion but it wasn't when Collins drove it.

I like this model so much that I will buy one of every livery they offer. This car is second only to the Cuda on my list of cool Trans Am cars.

Love that #37 car and if they ever do it, as long as they build it with the Nascar type wheels.
