Ken Brown, from Winnipeg (Manitoba) is a great customer at Slot Car Corner Canada. Ken has decided to participate in the Slot Racers Giving Back charity fundraising by donating all its SCCC Points that he has accumulated in the last few months. Instead of using the SCCC Points to get a reward, like he was entitled to, he decided to give them back. I decided to add a little to its total and together, we're adding another nice slot car to the prize list.

The newly released Ferrari F40 LM from Policar is now another prize that you can win, thanks to Ken's generosity.

Win a Difalco DD301 NEO 1/32 Controller!!

Postby SlotCarCorner » Thu Mar 16, 2017 7:30 am

Jim Difalco of Difalco Design fame has graciously donated a Difalco DD301 NEO 1/32 Controller to our Slot Racers Giving Back charity fundraising prize pool!! Jim has been hand building controllers for over 40 years - his controllers are used by slot racers the world over including many national and world champions. However, there is a caveat - we must raise at least $1,200 in donations for this prize to be given away. For those of you not familiar with the Difalco NEO 1/32 controllers, Harry did a review of the DD300 last year - here is the link. Note the DD301 has all of the same features but unlike the DD300 which has a fixed resistor network, the DD301 allows you to plug-in different resistor networks to fine-tune the controller's sensitivity. Retail value of the Difalco DD301 is $162.00 - if you've been waiting for an excuse to make a donation, what are you waiting for?

Image Image

Here is a summary of features:

Description

The Difalco Neo DD301 is a high-performance 1:32 controller with many of the same features as the high-end Difalco Genesis controllers at a lower price point.  Many of these features are not available in competitor's comparably priced controllers.

* 30 Bands:  The 30-band design provides smoother, more precise control than comparably priced controllers.
* Flexibility:  Unlike resistor based controllers which are designed to work for a very narrow range of applications, the Difalco 30-band Neo controller will work with virtually any 1/32 motor.
* Adjustable Braking:  Provides a wide range of adjustment to match car, track and driver characteristics for optimum performance.
* Adjustable Sensitivity:  Provides a wide range of adjustment to match car, track and driver characteristics for optimum performance.
* Resistor Network:  Like the high-end Genesis 1:32 controllers, the 30-band Neo DD301 controller features a small resistor network board that plugs into the main controller board.  Additional resistor network boards are available in our online store.  The additional (optional) resistor networks give you the option to further tune the performance characteristics of the 30-band Neo controller to your specific requirements.
* Ball Bearing Trigger With Threaded Trigger Pin:  Designed for heavy-duty use and long life.  The ball bearings provide silky smooth trigger action resulting in more precise control.  They will not wear like standard oilites that induce trigger side play and cause poor wiper button contact.  The adjustable pivot nut means even after years of heavy use your controller will never develop trigger "slop" like other brands.
* Dual Polarity:  The Neo DD301 is wired for positive polarity at the factory; however, this can be easily changed with a small screwdriver by the user if desired.
* Design:  All Difalco Neo controllers are built on a fiberglass frame with a large floating brass power contact (for maximum power transfer), stainless steel hardware, and heavy duty wire. The circuit board is nickel plated and will not corrode like plain copper designs.
* Ergonomics:  Difalco Neo controller feature a sturdy, comfortable Parma handle that can be used for extended periods of time without causing pain or fatique.  This is the same handle used on the higher-end Genesis controllers.
* Ease of Maintenance:  With minimal user maintenance, your Difalco Neo controller will give you many years of trouble-free service.  Clearly written maintenance instructions are included.  The open frame design makes routine cleaning and maintenance quick and easy.
* Service and Support:  Complete troubleshooting instructions are included so in the unlikely event a problem should occur racers can quickly diagnose and fix most problems with readily available, inexpensive repair parts.  No need to send your controller back to the factory or another country.  In the event you need assistance, Jim at Difalco Design will be there with his 45 years of slot racing knowledge for advice or to service your controller.

Here's an incredible prize donated by Acme Branding Company - it's a Single-cutaway ESP LTD EC-401QMV with a quilted maple top and DiMarzio pickups. There is a caveat - we must reach $2,000 in donations to give this guitar away.

Donated another $50, like last year. I did well in prizes last year. Going to send a email to opt out of the Difalco controller (I have a 30 band already) and the guitar is useless for for a deaf guy

I like this great cause.

This is the prototype of the car we are donating. Winner will get the first production produced car.

CG's two charity's will once again be Lemons of Love - a very good group started by a friend of mine - they deliver goody-bags to people going through heavy duty chemo treatment.
http://lemonsoflove.org/home.html - and our other charity is the Fisher House who provide military families with housing assistance for injured/sick military personnel.

Good luck to everyone and thank you for supporting this great event!
