What I have observed in (OMG!) 55 years, is that configurations either enhance or match established principles. That may sound odd, but think about a long wheelbase that has an inline vs. a short wheelbase with a sidewinder. Almost always they are a match. The Pioneer Mustangs were a nice pairing of sidewinder with a short wheelbase, with the added help of a fairly wide track. Javelins were longer wheelbase, almost as long as the Chargers, and as a sidewinder, would be a bit tail happy, in my estimation. Either situation is easily balanced, so it really doesn't matter. Does that help with the question?
